JP60 Review

manufacturer: Sterling by Music Man date: 07/26/2011 category: Electric Guitars
Sterling by Music Man: JP60
Most of all its a fun guitar to play, the neck profile is absolutely perfect to me and the way it is set up is incredible, the action is pretty low yet it still maintains a huge amount of sustain.

Sound: I was amazed by the amount of different sounds you can get out of it. Completely quiet through a plethora of different amps/effects. Has a huge sound. I'm upgrading to BKP in the near future to get more clarity out of the neck pickup. Probably one of the best guitars for that price. // 9

Action, Fit & Finish: The setup was the thing that drew me to this guitar, the playability compared to every other guitar in its class is astounding it even compares to higher end guitars that are double and even triple the price of it. The finish is absolutely flawless which is rare to see for a guitar costing under $1k. Overall the construction is flawless. // 10

Reliability & Durability: The guitar manages to stay perfectly in tune even with the tremolo, the locking tuners are very effective. Although I will soon change to a tremel-no system. I've had it for about 2 months now and nothing has gone wrong with it, the hardware seems of top quality and I don't see any issues arising in the near future. // 8

Overall Impression: I play mainly progressive metal using a huge mixture of clean and distorted tones, this guitar seems to be able to handle them all. Most of all its a fun guitar to play, the neck profile is absolutely perfect to me and the way it is set up is incredible, the action is pretty low yet it still maintains a huge amount of sustain. I've been playing for about 6-7 years now and have owned a huge range of guitars from most of the "big" manufacturers, this is honestly one of the best guitars I've owned for its dollar value. // 10
