This is a really neat collector guitar that is one of only a few limited edition pieces made.

Price paid: $ 450

Features: This is one of the rarest guitars in the world. There is only 12 in the world. I don't know what year it was made but it says it was made in Korea to trick the person who got it to make them think it was a common guitar. But it is made in Chicago, Illinois. 22 maple frets. Laminated top. Body and neck woods are maple. The neck is connected to the guitar and it ends about in the middle of the guitar. Finish is an Orange ripple effect. Body style is almost an early version of the Gibson Les Paul. Volume tone and 3-way selector controls. Washburn pickups. Non locking tuners. Gig Bag and cable included. // 9

Sound: It does good for like Guns n Roses because the strings are kinda easy to move (Ernie Ball strings only) and the neck is easy to move up and down also. I use a Princeton '65 amp and Danelectro distortion, echo, chorus and flange pedals. Not very noisy Rich Bright sounds. It does great pick scrapes, slides bends, stuff like that. // 10

Action, Fit & Finish: Great at the factory great at home. Pickups are just right. Every thing on this is perfect no flaws no scratces. Nothing period. and I mean no flaws. Saddle fits, no noisy pickups, no loose controls, no misaligned bracing, no poorly filed fretwire, no finish flaws, no poor quality wood no rusted hardware no loose pegs. // 10

Reliability & Durability: It will withstand Live playing. The hardware seems like it will last. Wait it will last. Strap buttons are good except the bottom is kinda loose. You can depend on it. I would use it without a back up.The finish withstanded 2 or 3 years before I got so yeah it will last for a few years more. // 10

Impression: I like to play classic and this is perfect. I've been playing for 3 years now. I own a Washburn WR150 and a red Fender Telecoustic. Nothing I wanted to ask. If this were lost or stolen I would kill myself because I could never replace this guitar. I love the whole guitar, I don't hate it, I love the features. How would you compare this to other guitars? This guitar was made all through 1997-1999. It was part of the Magnum Series brought out in that time period. I have heard people say there are only 6, there are only 12, there are hundreds. It seems odd that no one knows the exact truth, and it seems even more odd, that they only made 6, or 12, in 2 years, hundreds would make a lot more sense. These are listed at 499 new, and yet, its one of the rarest guitars in the world? Come on, if you were buying "one of the rarest guitars in the world" wouldnt you feel screwed if you were paying less that at least $1000?

I honestly like it, its nice, but I do not like the wavy things in the bottom as a lot of blues/jazzy guitars have. if it were a blue color then it would be nicer.

Only 12 made? And this guy paid $450?! They only made 300 EVH frankenstarts & they're going for $25,000! Yamaha makes a Sammy Hagar guitar and it looks better than this, at least it has a Seymour Duncan JB pickup.

okay, i'm no guitar expert, but this doesn't make much sense to me either. I know i would feel pretty screwed if i bought a guitar for less than $1000 and it was supposed to be "one of the rarest in the world". Plus, i think its kinda ugly :-P

I think I have to say that this review is biased on the notion that this is a really rare guitar. Last I checked, Washburns are cheap as hell, made in Japan, and couldn't be considered ever remotely good. Some of their acoustics are nice, but that's about it. Maybe if you threw some nice pickups in this, and scratched out Washburn, I might consider playing it.

dont get me wrong, korean imports are good...i have one lol (Dean Vendetta 4) but dude....listen to these other dudes. they dont put Made in Korea on something if its supposed to be some awesome limited edition USA custom shop line or something...thats just retarded. its NOT sammy hagar's guitar or he would probably have it in his house or in a hard rock cafe. wouldnt you be a little suspicious if a dude was trying to sell you a "james bond" aston martin or something for like a few hundred bucks? same type of deal...you got ripped off or you misread something.

My brothers got the MR450 in red it looks really close to this one, and his is signed by sammy hagar...id prefer his over that one

The MR250 is a Korean version of the USA Custom Shop MR400 and MR450. The MR250 is a well built guitar and plays very well, and has good components (e.g., Grover 18:1 tuners) but does not match the build quality of Washburn USA Custom Shop models (and it would cost 2-3X as much to purchase a similar quality Gibson or PRS) and they have very mediocre pickups, unlike the Seymour Duncans that come in their highest end imports and all USA guitars. If you want this guitar to sound better or be a good gig worthy guitar, you will have to upgrade the pickups. After that, you will have a very nice sounding and playing guitar that in my opinion will easily surpass the under 1500.00 Les Pauls... and, it has a better carved neck joint, which allows far superior upper fret access...

My dad owns one and he bought it in 1995 2nd hand
If there not rare howcome they cant be bought anywhere on the internet if there that common and cheap. ill admit its not a pretty guitar but it is very rare. I like this guitar, Infact im learning to play on it
