I've been playing the guitar for... atleast 5 months now, and this is the guitar i got (only £140)its a great beginers guitar but the amp does have its problems like the buzzing if yuor not playing the guitar, yeah this guitar is great for metal or punk, awesome beginers guitar!

I've had mine for a few years... I hated the amp it came with, I bought a new one and it sounds much better. The selector has progressively gotten in worse shape, I have to mess around with it for a little bit to get a full tone. I play mostly rock and it has suited me well for the most part. Good for beginners.

Gnomestar :
i found the guitar pretty good

the amps not great but when you use a decent amp you can get some nice sounds out of it!

bloody durable too, not a scratch just some holes in my wall where the 2 have met!

everyone seemed to complain bout the pickup selector.. im having the same problem as well.
the pickup selector was this guitar biggest flaw.

why the rating so low? this is an excelent begginers guitar

going with glue mans review here. i do feel the neck is very cheap because i've already got a crack in the body right under the 21st fret, but that could just be because i got it from my cousin and he played live with it. scratches really easy yes.. and i've got thousands of dents. but all in all its a great guitar and has served me well.

hey, i've been thinking about getting this guitar, 'cause i play bass, but i wanna learn guitar too. i read the review & thought that it would be fairly crap, but i've read the comments & it sounds pretty good now, i just have to be careful with it!

thanks everyone for reviewing & commenting on this guitar!!

I have this guitar and to be honest its pretty crap, the tremolo system only goes one way (I'm pretty sure most tremolos should go up as well as down), it breaks easily - just this morning the socket where i put my lead in fell out and its just generally not good quality. If anyone is thinking of getting one, dont, save up for something better or just get a squier they are about the same price but better.

I have this guitar and i play it through a peavey rage 158 amp and it sounds good. My m8 has a stagg strat copy nd this guitar beats the stagg by a mile!

I have The ERG-121 and mine doesn't have too many scratches even though I've had it for about two years, and I play it frequently. It really isn't a bad guitar, but I do agree that the amp is a bit...crappy. I use another amp.

LindaSilkey :
Shite guitar. I wouldn't recommend even beginners to get this. It's not even set up properly. I had problems with the bridge, action was too low (lots of buzzing), no sort of tone out of it, the amp is crap, poor nexk and headstock.

Pedz221 :
This is my only guitar at the moment (getting an Ibanez RG350DX) but i can say that the ERG is utterly crap and so are the yamaha strings, which i found unwinded themselves and the next time u played them, they snapped. The sound on the original amp was auful so i got a MarshalMG30DFX and it sounded better, but i cant get the tones right for half the songs i play. I did get a good deal though for it (£86 for guitar, amp, case and strap) and is a good guitar for begginers.

This guitar is good for beginners. It scratches bad and the input jack bit breaks easily but apart from that its good - stays in tune and i can get a decent tone with the pickups. Everyone is rating this low because of the amp and the crappy cables that come in the gig bag but as soon as you upgrade the amp and get some better cables - the guitar sounds good.

vasil :
this guitar is cheep but the guitar is even more cheep
everything brake or get lose the tune button got lose
selector wire got lose the wire that for the cable for the amplifier got lose and needed to by fixed
and it loses its tuning at first strumming
so dont to the mistake i did and get some more money
and buy something decent

I own this guitar and its sucks.

really its a very bad guitar.specially for beginners coz it dont encourage you to play it sound like crap. you well question your self " WHY I STILL SUCK AT PLAYING " and it will fall a part.
if you want a beginner guitar u should buy proper guitar middle rang one.

Whatever anyone else says I really like this guitar. It have's really good sounds with Roland Microcube and it's easy to play.
Microphone selector broke but it was quite easy to replace. And also the screw of thrusting-rod broke but I don't really need to use it.
It's not a beatiful one but as I paid 70€ for it but I like it anyway :P

I bought this guitar knowing exactly what it was, something to try out and see if you really want to play an electric guitar with out spending a lot of money and loosing it if you dont want it. Anyway, I've been playing my yamaha acoustic for 25 years and was getting bored. On an impulse, I bought this kit from Costco last Christmas. Nine months later and Im still happy. As far as the bridge selector switch, I had some trouble with it but I improved it buy spraying it with contact cleaner and soldering the wire they had missed and was just stuck in the hole. It's still not perfect but a lot better. Throw the patch cord out right away, it really is bad.A new set of strings and a few bridge adjustments and its fine. I don't plan to be in a band so this axe will do me just fine till I find another bargan on something better.Keeping my eyes peeled for a yamaha tc style guitar and a better amp. I feel this is a great guitar for learning and practicing, just as it was intended for.

Remember picking one of these up, just thought 'What the hell, give it a try'. The bridge bucker was nice, but that was it. The rest was either a bit naff, or just plain cheap-feeling. Still, what do you expect for a 2nd hand £50 guitar with a few battle-scars?

People are asking why the rating is so low, well, it's definantly not a 10...

I've had mine since July, it's not too bad of a guitar, just need an amp better than the GA-10.

i have a Yamaha RGX-121-D and it's like this one i'm agree with you that the guitar it's more for beginers and i think this guitar can be used by any guitar playar for the price the saoud it's veter than any cheap guitar in my impression the best, and it's very light so it's very comfortable the RGX-121-D for me it's one of the best medium guitars and if yu use a good amp it's sound great... i love this guitar mine have almost 3 years and i fix it only once.... i jus love it

Baasoromyuu :
So it's been nearly a year that I've had this guitar and nothing has broken or fallen off of it. I have some D'Addario .09s on it, a CBI cable and Dunlop picks (i.e. I replaced some of the crap that came in the starter kit). Now I need a better amp.

GTOtt :
This was the first guitar I bought (£50) and I can't bring myself to part with it. Yeah the pickups aren't brilliant but I run it through Guitar Rig 3 and manage to get some nice tones. I've just picked it up after 3 weeks and it's still in tune. Well worth a punt for a first guitar.

Got this as a present and although it doesn't have anything spectacular about it, it doesn't have any faults and would be very good as a simple\first guitar to own. =]
