I've owned my GMX210 for about 6 months and my son has the GMX212 he plays some variation of Death Metal
while I play Country and Folk.

I've used it with a Squire Fender Telecaster
and have plugged my Accoustiv 12string Yamaha in as well.

This amp is just as clear as any Fender amp out there.

Yes it lacks in what is available in it's modeling
only relative to your ability to access it via Midi.

With that said just grab a Digitech Foot Pedal
like the RP series and you have instant access to
patching your own variations without spending
the big bucks on a Midi Foot Pad.

And if your still curious of what the Amps variation Modeling is like if you have a PC with a Sound card that accepts Midi you could patch in with a Midi Cable
and make changes that way as well.

If I were to rate this amp I'd give it a 9

LordX :
There are so many distortion sounds you can produce with the GMX210.

I'm currently using:
Drive 2-3
AMP British
Mode Hi Gain
Speaker UK
Low 6
Mid 2
High 3
Present 94 (Crunch - @99)

With my Les Paul Custom.

I can get a nice punk rock sound from this. Although as low as the DRIVE is (2.5), it could be lower.

I just got this amp yesterday and I love it! I play Hard Rock/Metal and this amp is perfect for it. I have played peaveys and marshals and this amp definently stands up to them! I love how bassy this amp is, it is perfect for playing metallica. I think for this price this amp ROCKS!
