Price paid: $ 300

Features: Head HV100THD Hybrid (12AX7 tube preamp and solid state power amp) guitar 100 watts, two amp channels (rhythm and lead) and 3-band EQ per channel, the rhythm shine overdrive channel, and gain extra eq mod the lead channel. Includes also the boost for solos and formidable that it works for both channels. There's also DSP effects, basic but usable mainly the delay, others found it pretty weak. The output has also direct output to be connected to mixing console, very useful when you do not have a microphone/speakers or quality. The construction and found it beautiful and strong led, using the foot, the the buttons on the front to select channels does not work, only being changed by activating foot. // 9

Sound: I think I did the right guitar plugged directly into the amp and I was playing, one of the first things I did when I bought it was to take the Electro-Harmonix 12AX7 and put a Sovtek, not because it was bad, but because of conscience disengage. If you expect an amplifier with gain exaggerated, that Head was not made for you, he would put it with the gain at most you have a very full sound, responding well defined the dynamics and especially pleased my ears, even using 6 string guitars and 7-string with active and passive pickups but still felt the heavy sound well defined, the touch of classic rock to metal djent up with a satisfactory drive. Canal clean it and excellent, has a satisfactory overdrive, equalization responds well, already in the lead channel you have two options that are more of a button and an extra gain of the EQ MOD MOD my view the EQ differentiates the more open sound of the sound more scoop, for me the great thing this amp and the boost because I play lead guitar then need that volume to more time in the soil, and using it to delay my view was perfect, live you do not need to take a pedal to boost and another to delay it for yourself already have these two options which are totally normal, but with relation to other DSP effects that apply particularly head I do not use, you know when you feel something is missing, and exactly on the other DSP effects that head. // 10

Reliability & Durability: Accordingly have to speak only of buttons, EQMOD, gain boost, Brightness, overdrive, toggle tap, turn, appeared to be fragile as well as children's toys, do not trust tightening with little more force, the knobs they are very strong trust for the good in them. Until now with this head I already did 3 show up to date, had no problem, when I replace the 12AX7 thought I would see when I opened a pig service, the more the contrary saw a super job well done, all very well organized, nothing beats it, has nothing loose or done "kludge," something that certainly goes much confidence the musicians in the certainty that tomorrow will be working perfectly. // 7

Overall Impression: And a very honest amplifier, cost-effective, although some limited information on the Internet, an above average quality in construction and sound, the sound even better than many higher value, the only complaint is with respect to foot he does not feed foot with LED, which in the beginning can cause some discomfort for not sure if this the right channel but it comes not be a problem since it has many amplifiers without foot LED indicating the channel, do not know how the original foot and he came not keeping my head, and forgiveness for grammatical errors used google translate to correct my English. // 9
