Features: It's a cab, not a lot of features to mention. Birch plywood, 4 Peavey XXX speakers, 300 Watts RMS @ 16 ohm, stereo option. Weights about 45 kilos, so the weight is pretty average. You can open the back to change the sound, and it has removable wheels. The speakers are Peavey's like I said, but since they don't sound any worse than Celestions I give it a 9. It could be a tad lighter, but since I don't move it around much I don't really care. The heavier the cab, the heavier the sound in my opinion (Orange cabs are like 60 kilos for example). Very important thing: you have a sexy lady in the bottom corner! Wooo! // 9
Sound: I use it with an Engl Ritchie Blackmore and a Jackson JS32T Kelly (I know, I need a better guitar for that rig). I play metal, all kinds of metal. I have a pretty mid heavy sound (mids on 8/10 or 9/10, mid boost on) and this cab handles that without any problems. Typical for a 412 it moves a lot of air, which results in awesome leg massage. A lot of bass available, sounds good on clean sounds too. If you scoop the mids on a clean setting and turn the bass up you get a crystal clear, bright sound that still puts so much bass out that you get chills on every low string. I compared it to a Marshall 1960 cab, the V30's in the Marshall were way harsher than my Peavey. Greenbacks sounded a bit better tough. I tried it with a Peavey JSX once too, sounded great. You can play everything with that cab, but I think it prefers metal and rock. Could be a tad brighter for cleans maybe. // 9
Reliability & Durability: Never had any issues, it serves me well. Built like a tank. I have put in bigger wheels tough. The old ones were good, but it's more comfortable with bigger ones. Nothing to worry about, earns a 10. Would do a gig without backup, it's very uncommon that your cab breaks down. // 10
Impression: It may not look as awesome as an Engl cab, but it sounds awesome, is very well built and it can handle every amp out there. Funk addicts may not dig that cab, but it's awesome for rock, metal, jazz and blues. And haven't found many funk players with fullstacks yet. // 9
Second of all, this cab is not good for jazz or blues, because of its bad clean sound, due to its muddy speakers. It only works for metal. But I would replace its speakers anyway: four Celestion Greenbacks would sound so much better instead of Peavey's stock devices...
