Great reviews, I will be buying this amp very soon and it looks like I'm going to be very happy with it not that I aren't already because I tested it out at Guitar Center and fell in love. It was like sonic porn to my ears.

After playing this amp on the floor for about 40 minutes, and continually messing with the distortions and effects, I finally realized this amp is amazing for it's price. Ordered one in and it should be here within the next week.

Humm... Interesting. Only one I can find is the 100VTxl, which looks like a mroe upmarket version. Still, if this is the lite version to that one's full fat, I'm sold.

i have had the same question, i am gonna try to sell my marshall mg back to guitar center and purchase the vox half stack. i was wondering though. i have a boss md-2, and a snarling dogs wonder wah, so i was wondering how well the effects will work with this amp, either because it has all these effects already, and how well it will work with the amp models. if some one could p.m. me i would appreciate it.

You're scrapping a tube amp????

randyaintdead82 :
ahhh yes this is such a great amp you dont have to buy many distortion pedals for this but the only complaint i have is the wah cause it kinda has a weak tone but its a great amp overall

I own this amp, traded my Line6 half stack for it. This things a beast, got lots of balls. It's such a warm sounding amp. I understand you up there about the Valveking, thats what I was gonna buy until I played this thing. Vox will not fail you. I'm personally a huge fan of combo amps, get truer tone out of them, so I purchased this one. Sounds great with my 72
tele deluxe reissue.

tom_martin_123 :
i would be wrong to call it a bad amp coz it is pretty good... but i just don't see the point in having a 100w solid state amp (yes it is solid state dont be fooled by the valvetronics). I mean u cant use it for practice its far too loud... u may aswel have the 15... and for a gig u may aswel buy a smaller tube amp for similar price (probably abit more) and use a microphone to make it louder.

i don't want people to take this the wrong way coz this is a decent amp.... i just dont think thers any point in it.

POSTED: 09/30/2008 - 02:36 pm / quote |
roberto123 :
How can you say its too loud for a practise amp? how about you just turn the volume down!
POSTED: 10/06/2008 - 11:13 am / quote |
rockboy8000 :
Uh, tom_martin_123, how can it be just a solid state when it does indeed have a TUBE in the pre-amp? That would make it a hybrid, with the best of both worlds: solid-state reliability and diversity, with tube tone and response. And if it's too loud, you turn a knob on the back that ranges from using no watts to 100 watts down, and then crank the master volume without getting loud at all. Just another great feature from this amp. Maybe you should look into things more before criticizing them.
POSTED: 10/26/2008 - 11:08 pm / quote |
ivri :
Exactly what I do with mine. It doesn't lose anything at all but volume. But then you have 2 volumes on the amp (3 if you count the gain nob for some of the models) and one on your guitar. Jeez, I play punk and even I know how to turn down the volume. Even if its contrary to all my beliefs. But this amp is hands down a great amp. For the money, dude you can't beat it with a stick even if you tried. Played around on it for a few months before buying it and, although tried out others, I always came back to this one. No problems, no worries, no regrets. Sweet.
POSTED: 11/19/2008 - 10:26 pm / quote |
ivri :
As far as the point of hving a 100w combo, some gigs don't afford the ability to mike your small 15w/30w amps. You gotta be able to provide the needed volume with what you have. This, as well as other high wattage/small package amps, fit that bill. Plus, not everyone has a truck and trailer to put their gear in. Try getting all your stuff to a show when you drive a VW Rabbit. Life gets real interesting real fast.

I'm going to do what most people do when they get a new amp. I JUST GOT THIS, AND IT'S AWESOME!
Ehem, I think it's just a reflex for when people get new gear? Anyway, I love this amp. It's loud as hell, and has the tone to match.

POSTED: 12/26/2008 - 10:31 pm / quote |
lord_yggdrasill :
oh, I know I posted something the other day, but I need to clear some things up for people.
It has variable wattage.
So, you can indeed use this in about any situation, bedroom practice, band practice, and at a gig.
There is a tube in the pre-amp, and it DOES make a difference.
and the effects are actually quite good.

It is a very good amplifier

Very versatile for several styles

Good effects for an amp

But it need a better eq, more treble, sounds very bass

Quick question...

I'm a deathcore / hardcore / alternative rocker with a low budget.

I saw this guitar used in a guitar center for around $300.

I want an amp that's going to sound great and possibly be able to play local shows without me having to buy a ton of extra equipment.

I'm playing a Schecter Damien 7 FR, and I have an Ibanez RG550 I can ressurect from the dead if need be.

Would this be a good amp for me?

I just ordered this amp off of Tomleemusic in Canada. My uncle has the 30 watt and said I should get this one. It is only costing me $400!

I'm sure you read the full reviews above so you know about some of the killer metal monster amp models. I'd say find the same guitar there that you own, plug in and find out 1st hand. Plus you want to make sure EVERYTHING works on/in it. It has some really great hi-gain models but just in case after trying it out you find its not enough, try the AD100VTXL. It was designed with extreme hi-gain in mind. But measure the cost of the xl vs an overdrive pedal. This amp is super versatile. Now I'm looking to get a nice 4x12 cab and use my amp like a head for when I play at the local skatepark.

I'm dumping my Crate too. I hate it!!! It never sounded great and I bought it for price and volume (DUMB) and it started to get fuzzier and noiser over time and I will never buy one again!

i OWN ONE AND IM VERY PLEASED WITH THE MASSIVE TONES / THE WARM SOUND THE BUILT IN PRESETS AND AFFECTS BUT ITS A BEAST TO CARRY. TRADED IN A MARSHALL 8080 GLAD I DID THIS AMP HAS REAALY MADE PLAYING A JOY. WITH SO MANY VARIABLES YOU CAN GET LOST IN TWEAK LAND BUT YOU CAN SAVE YOUR SOUND S TO THE AMPS TWIN CHANNEL AND HEY PRESTO THEY ARE BACK.GREAT AMP FOR PUBS AND CLUBS ETC PLAYING BIGGER VENUES YOU CAN USE A VOX EXT CAB AND THE SOUND SPREADS BIG TIME.
