Ease of Use: There's no manual, and there are a lot of different functions, so you may have to search a bit before finding your sound. There are knobs for volume, drive, tone, single coil/humbucker (a sort of tone/drive control, giving you lots of boost and crunch if you turn it on humbucker) and a 3-way switch for the middle frequencies, you can cut, boost or leave them be. You can get many different Sounds out of this, so it worth the 15 minutes it takes to understand what the different controls are for. // 9
Sound: I use it through an Fame T60R 60W Hybrid amp, with an self-customed Strat-like and an Epiphone G-400. Sounds really great, it gives the sound more punch, and the two equalizer controls allow you to really well control your sound shaping. The noise level is acceptable, but it starts to get a bit noisy if you turn the Drive to maximum. The mid boost/cut sound good, the cutting gives you a very deep sound, while the boost can almost take a Wah-like sound (not very good because it's not made for this purpose), especially with a Guitar that already has lots of middles (SG, LP), because it really boost the middles a lot. The sc/humbucker control is great, Humbucker gives you crunchy overdrive sound, and can almost become an Distorsion-like one. Single coil makes te stompbox become more a booster, than an overdrive, but it still has a bit crunch in it, very nice sound, too. I play blues, rock and hardrock, and for this it does it's job very well. // 9
Reliability & Durability: You could bang it against a wall, and you could still work with it. it's completely made of metal and has thick rubber on the base, so it does not move around. The small 3-way switch is the only weak part, but it looks solid and is anyway placed in the middle of the very reliable knobs, so it's almost impossible to stomp on it. I already gigged with it, there's really no need for a backup, especially if you use a DC adaptor, so you don't have to rely on a battery. // 10
Impression: Overall, it's a very versatile and reliable effect pedal, it has great overdrive sounds, and is also useable as a booster with a bit crunch. The mid boost/cut is very useful to get some punch for solos. If it was stolen or broken (even if I don't know how you could manage to break it), I would buy it again the same day. // 10
