This is a five-knob fuzz using two new old-stock sixties germanium transistors. The circuit is not modeled after any classic fuzz design, but should have been around when Leary was still lucid.

The original Zvex Fuzz Factory pedal was invented in the mid 90's, each one hand-painted and assembled in Minnesota. In 2004, they released the 'Vexter Series' which is the exact same pedal only it's not hand-painted and some of the assembly takes place in Taiwan (the final assembly still happens in the U.S.).

There is a 3 5/8" copper plate mounted on a chunk of 3/8" clear acrylic that passes over the top of the pedal housing, angles down to sharp turn, and goes back to the pedal.

It has vibrato with speed and depth controls, allowing a vibrato/chorus/Leslie-like shimmer and it has very slow vibrato speed for warped-record effects, to very fast for jiggly playback.

It generates the distortion of the wave in the sloped part of the cycle, instead of the peaks and valleys like all other distorters and fuzzes.

This is a fuzz pedal from Mr. Vex which I picked up on recommendation over a Big Muff, and at twice the price it is definitely more than twice as good! Getting a good sound of it is easy.
