Sound: This was my fist time seeing Biffy Clyro Live and I must say I was not disappointed. They played an intense 90 minute set covering their latest songs, hits from Puzzle and some older stuff from Blackened Sky. Simon Neil was amazing throughout, hitting every note with the passion and raw intensity he is gifted with. He leaped around the stage, his loyal Fender Strat strung high round his chest. The drummer and bassist were also great on the night, their heavy beats kepping the crowd going. // 9
Perfomance: The minute they played the riff of their opener That Golden Rule the crowd was set alight. The crowd surged and moshed singing every word. They then moved on to tracks from Puzzles like Whos Got A Match? and a great rendition of Living Is A Problem. Simon then toned it down a little with some slower new material but soon the place was ignited once again with Get F--ked Stud, Love has a diameter and a Whole Child Ago. The next two tracks stood out for me; Now I'm Everyone and Saturday Superhouse. The energy of band and crowd alike during these was just awesome. Acoustic versions of Machines and Mountains brought this brilliant set list to a close. Audience participation was always great with cheers of 'Mon The Biff!!' audible at all times. // 10
Impression: This gig was in the intimate surrounds of The Olympia Theatre in Dublin city on 29/10/2009. I think the old concert hall was shaken to the foundations by this gig! Overall it was a fantastic night. The band played an energetic set and the crowd was a surging mass of diehaed Biffy fans (myself included!). The only thing I didn't like was how little old material they played. Thay only played two songs from Blackened Sky and none from Vertigo or Infinity Land. Overall this was a fantastic gig though. The ticket cost €28 and was worth every penny. I would definately go see them again. Excellent gig. 'Mon the Biff! // 9
