Sound: After hearing mixed reviews on Coheed And Cambria live, and watching the DVD myself, I wasn't expecting too much from them. I was completely blown away by the end of the first song. They were amazing. The sound quality was impeccable! It was mixed extremely well. Claudio's vocals were amazing, just as good as the CD. I rate the bass player as one of the best I've ever seen. These guys know their instruments, and showcase their talents perfectly. // 8
Perfomance: The audience was going crazy. Apart from a few hardcore idiots, the crowd was fairly well behaved. I don't appreciate people throwing things at the band they've come to see though. The setlist was:
01. Keeping The Blade
02. Welcome Home
03. Ten Speed (Of Gods Blood And Burial)
04. Blood Red Summer
05. The Ring In Return
06. Once Upon Your Dead Body
07. A Favour House Atlantic
08. Apollo I: The Writing Writer
09. Wake Up
10. The Suffering
11. Devil In Jersey City
12. Everything Evil
13. In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth 3
14. The Willing Well IV: The Final Cut
The highlight for me was Welcome Home. Incredible stuff. They lengthened The Final Cut, with some intense soloing. I was disappointed that they didn't play more off their older albums, with favorites like The Crowing, Three Evils (Embodied In Love And Shadow), Delirium Trigger, and Time Consumer left out. For a band with 3 albums, a 70 minute show is a fairly weak effort. // 7
Impression: The show was at the Roundhouse, Sydney, Australia on the 25th of March. The openers were a band from Australia called Eleventh He Reaches London, who weren't too bad. The ticket cost me $50 and was worth every cent. The most memorable moment of the night was getting lost and walking an hour and a half to get to the show, and then taking 3 hours to get home. Never again. I will definitely be at Coheed And Cambria's next show, simple due to their outstanding skills on their instruments. // 9
