Canada (Toronto), November 2, 2004 Review

artist: green day date: 01/07/2005 category: live concerts

The best part of the show was when they picked three people to come up and replace the band for "Knowledge" a Operation Ivy song.

Sound: This was an amazing show, from the opening till close, Green Day had everyone on their feet, perhaps it was because of Billie joe touching himself onstage, or the jokes in between, whatever it was, it worked. I'm only thirteen and seen only 7 shows, but this one stood out. Billie Joe's vocals were fanominal, and he never missed a beat on guitar, he missed a lot of beats. There was a second guitarist, and for some parts Billie sang without a guitar. The 2nd guitarist does a damn good job, but I have to say the best part of the show was when he left and they played a whole bunch of old shit. That was so awesome. They made everyone happy, playing new stuff and old stuff. And one lucky fella got called up to play guitar as they formed a band right on stage. The guy got to keep the guitar lucky bastard. // 10

Perfomance: The whole crowd enjoyed them, maybe not the poseres sitting there humming along, while the rest of us screamed our balls off when the line "when masterbations lost its fun your f--king lazy" in Longview.

01. American Idiot - this song may be over played but when you see the band running onstage during the intro, youll shit your pants.
02. Jesus Of Suburbia - this was friggin amazing, they played all nine minutes perfectly.
03. Holiday - how could you not enjoy that song.
04. St. Jimmy - good tune.
05. Are We The Waiting - this was good, everyone sang so loud.
06. Wake Me Up When September Ends - this was so good, all the lighters, it was an amazing atmosphere.
07. Hitchin A Ride - this was a beaty, you know everyone wanted to hear that bad boy.
08. Longview - oh man, when they played this it blew my mind, my personal favourite.
09. Brainstew - this was really cool everyone sang along, and they did this wierd intro thing
10. Minority - this was really awesome, because I really wanted to hear some stuff off of warning:
11. Boulevard Of Broken Dreams - this was good, they had a cool picture up during the song, of Billie Joes eyes, you may have seen it on an awards ceremony.
12. When I Come Around - this was amazing, one of my favourite songs of all time, and the performance live was perfect.
13. She - this was great, everyone wanted some stuff off dookie.
14. good Ridance - this was the closing song, and it was just beautiful, everyone sang along, then all the shit at the end.
15. We Are The Champions - this was funny, the had the words going in lights about them.
16. Homecoming - again, a spectactular performance, oh man the chorus were he says "jimmy died, today..." that gave me shivers.

I cant think of the rest, there may have been a few more but I think I got most of them.

Impression: This show was in Toronto, Canada, at the air Canada Centre on November 2nd. The openers were Sugarcult and New Found Glory, I'm not too fond of either band, but they did a pretty good live performance, but what the hell was a keyboard guy doing with New Found Glory. I loved how Green Day played an equal ammount of old stuff and new stuff. I hated Sugarcult. The tickets were like 50 bucks, which was totally worth my money for that f--king show! The most unforgettable moments were when Billie Joe started masterbating on stage. Next time Green Day comes to Ontario I will go if it requires eating human feces. You should too. // 10

Sound: The sound was great. Bille was running through at least 3 amps. Mike was using a Mesa Boogie, and I didn't catch what drum's Tre had. But the sound got gradully louder every band: Sugarcult, New Found Glory, Green Day. Bille's vocals were right on key. The singer for Sugarcult also had a great voice. And New Found Glory just ruined the whole thing. I mean really, if that fat ass bass player isnt going work out, and have chessburgers all day then put on a shirt. // 10

Perfomance: Here the set Green Day played:

01. American Idiot - great solid song.
02. Jesus Of Suburbia - they played this song a amazing, awesome song on the cd.
03. Holiday - awesome.
04. St. Jimmy - amazing.
05. Longview
06. She
07. Brainstew
08. King For A Day
09. Boulavard Of Broken Dreams
10. We Are The Champions

I'm sure I didn't get all the songs but you have an idea what they played. And during mid set this guy caught smoking in the put and this huge 500 pound secruity guard made this dive and clobered HIM! Funny.

Impression: It was at Air Canada Center, and ACC is a great place for sound/performence. The openers were Sugarcult - 8/10, New Found Glory - 2/10, and of course Green Day - 10/10. The best part of the show was when they picked three people to come up and replace the band for "Knowledge" a Operation Ivy song. The tickets I think were around 40-50 bucks so not bad for being really close. If Green Day come back I would defintley go and see them again. If you like punk rock/with some pop in your music I defintly reccomend you seeing them. // 10
