UK (London), February 7, 2005 Review

Working throughout each song in album order, none offered a dissapointment. Amazing pyro displays lighting up the stage and warming the crowd added to the amsazing show the band put on.

Sound: The sound quality was amazing, I stood further back for New Found Glory and it was as good as the sound in the 3rd row back which I managed to reach for Green Day. Billy Joe's singing was in key as usual, towards the end of the set ecouraging the crowd to join in the "heeeyyyy-ho" chants. Billie Joe used his Gibson and Fender guitars for the songs on American Idiot and his ol' style guitar for the classics. Mike used his Fender Prescision Bass throughout. Jason White (2nd guitar) support well, although I don't remember what he was playing! // 10

Perfomance: The performance was stunning, running on stage to begin with American Idiot the crowd screamed and chanted "Green Day!" Between the chorus and the solo of the song, Billie introduced the band and told the crowd that, as it was their last night, they would play American Idiot from start to finish! Working throughout each song in album order, none offered a dissapointment. Amazing pyro displays lighting up the stage and warming the crowd added to the amsazing show the band put on. After Billie had ended Whatsername they left the stage, and re-joined to play Longview. Other older songs included Basket Case, Minority and King For A Day. A superb rendition of We Are The Champions under a stream of Green Day confetti ended the songs by the rest of the band, Billie Joe ended the show with Good Riddance, turning up his guitar to full volume to play the last chord. Billie Joe's smile never left his face and the whole band seemed to be enjoying the show and the crowd. Tre Cool ran back to the stage to launch his sticks into the crowd, sadly I didn't manage to old on to the one I went for. // 10

Impression: Overall, I was very pleased to see them play the entire album. A rare event at any gig and was amazing to be part of! The tickets costing just over £28 each were more than worth it. The Hammersmith Apollo's barrier is very close to the stage and the feeling of making eye-contact with a band member is unforgettable. I was a little dissapointed that they didn't try the band on stage for the cover of Operation Ivy's Knowledge but I can't wait for Green Day to return to England and see them perform the endless number of classics they have. // 10
