Simplicity is definitely nowhere to be found in the GN'R dictionary, employing a variety of pyrotechnics, fireworks, and projections.

Sound: Being a young'n of 18 years of age I can't really compare the glory of the old GNR with Slash and the whole crew, but with Axl Rose still at the helm and some new but familiar bodies in the holster, Guns N' Roses shows that they still have the flair and energy of the late 1980s and early 1990s. Although his style has definitely changed, Axl Rose has still got it and Nine Inch Nails guitarist Robin Finck can hold up to the chops of Slash. Despite my initial disappointment of not seeing the original GN'R getting back together for some time, I was too lost in the music to really care about anything else! // 9

Perfomance: Combining old hits such as Live and Let Die, November Rain, Sweet Child O Mine, and Paradise City, and new tracks off the new album Chinese Democracy, Guns N' Roses looked back at the old years and looked foward to the new. Simplicity is definitely nowhere to be found in the GN'R dictionary, employing a variety of pyrotechnics, fireworks, and projections. So, as a result, the performance was both visually and audibly entertaining. // 10

Overall Impression: USA at the Oakland Arena (Oakland, CA) on December 15, 2006. I got my ticket online and it was about $80, but I definitely got my money's worth. There were 3 opening acts. The first of which was a group called the Suicide Girls, a striptease kind of deal. Being a guy, it was definitely entertaining. Second was the hardcore/metal band Helmet, good band, simple chords (and progressions). Sebastian Bach was third with his metal band, extremely good performance. Finally, at 12:30am (after 5 hours of waiting), Guns N' Roses topped it all off with about 2 hours oldies and some new songs off of their new upcoming album Chinese Democracy, set with a tentative release date of March 2007. // 10
