Sound: Contrary to popular belief, Ville Vallo and really hold his own live. He sounded very close to the albums, and was overall very good. The guitarist had some nice SGs and the drummmer had I pretty nice kit, I don't know about the others. It was very loud though. Too loud, maybe because we were very close to the stage and speakers, but it still was too loud for a small venue. The guitar and drums were way too loud, and I could barely hear the vocals and keyboards at some parts. but it was all good. // 7
Perfomance: Unfortunately I missed the first act, Skindred, whom I rather enjoy. The opener we did see was some crappy screamo band who was also too loud. The audience was pretty stagnant during these guys. However once him took the stage, it picked up a good deal and I thouroughly enjoyed myself. I must say I had a great time and was very impressed by the band. They played mainly from their 3 newest albums (Razorblade Romance, Love Metal and Dark Light) highlights would be Buried Alive By Love, Soul On Fire, Your Sweet 666, Killing Loniness, Rip The Wings Off A Butterfly, Right Here In My Arms, and the awesome Razorblade Kiss. Ville talked a little between songs, but was overall pretty quiet. The band really seemed to be enjoying themselves, and Ville smoked literally like half a pack of cigaretes, but his voice held up. // 10
Impression: I loved every moment of him. On the album, I usually get bored after a few songs, but they put on an awesome show. I hated Finch (the screamo band) and it was too loud, my ears rang up till 5pm the next day. And my dad insisted that he go, the good thing about that though was he bought the (overpriced) food. It was worth every penny of the 26 dollars I paid. This was my first show where I was down in front and not in reserved seats. And I have to say, I dont ever want reserved seats again. It's a real rush being 15 feet from the stage just going all out with a bunch of other people around you (I can't wait until I can hopefully do that when Iron Maiden hopefully comes). I will definately go to their next gig. It was not the best show musically that I have seen, but it came close, and I had so damn much fun, that was what made it special. // 9
