Their stage presence could've been better, but musically, perfect. No thrills, no drum solos or stage dives, just a straight foward band standing and playing it how it is.

Sound: The Kings played a great set in the Nottingham Ice Arena. Their stage presence could've been better, but musically, perfect. No thrills, no drum solos or stage dives, just a straight foward band standing and playing it how it is. // 8

Perfomance: I have to say, despite the lack of running around, I really enjoyed the concert. Can't remember the set list in full, but it went something like this: Taper Jean Girl - Nathan Followill gets the crowd jumping with a drumming intro. The band kick straight in and everyone in the place starts singing along "A-ha! Sha-hake!" 10. Pistol Of Fire - the song starts slowly, but picks up near the end as the band kick it into overdrive and Matthew rips out his first proper solo of the evening 9. Molly's Chambers - unusual to play it so early on. Anyway, great lighting, and the chorus was absoluley huge 10. Wasted Time - never really liked the song anyay, but they did play it pretty well 7. Razz - amazing bass playing from Jared. He was really getting into it 8. The Bucket - again, a signature song played frightfuly early on. Anyway, got all the less enthusiastic members of the crowd on their feet 10. Soft - played alot better than on record. Again, great lights not alot of movement from the band 9. Joes Head - Not the best 6. Happy Alone - now, it would have seemed, they were starting a medley of Youth and Young Manhood songs, which it appeared people didn't want to hear 7. Milk - never liked it on record, but the way Caleb played it, one of the best songs all evening 10. Velvet Snow - fast, well played, and catchy 8. Rememo - another slow song, good vibe 8. King Of The Rodeo - awesome, really awesome. Everyone gets going again 10. Four Kicks - without a doubt one of the best of the evening, crowd goes nuts 10. Milk - Caleb slams his mic to the floor and the band leave the stage 10. Encore: Holy Roler Novacaine - "Thanks for havin' us back" are some of his first words of the evening which was wierd. Still good song 9 Slow Night So Long - great song to finish. Caleb throws his mic in the crowd (on the stand) and they say goodnight 10. // 9

Overall Impression: A great night out at Nottingham Ice Arena on the 1st of July. The opener where The Features, who where similar to the Kings, and they where awesome! They will be big, watch this space. I really enjoyed some of the songs, Molly's Chambers, The Bucket, Four Kicks, Milk, I could go on. I also enjoyed the amount of screaming form Caleb. However once again I do think the band could invove the crowd more and get more into the music. Despite that, great live act. // 9
