Sound: Very good sound quality on the drystone stage but slightly muffled in the Pink and black tent the night before. Wide range of instruments- 3 guitars, a ukulele, saxophone, standard drum kit and a djambe drum and for one song a digeredoo. Lead singer was very good at singing and the MC had a bizarre voice which added a little comedy to the show (very scooby doo). // 9
Perfomance: They were very good at getting the audience going with songs like strawberry millions with some audience participation and Storytime with a hilarious dance for the chorus (running in circles and waving arms in the air). They played all of the songs from the album, a range of fast songs to slow ones and an amazing cover of supercallifragilicous. // 10
Impression: England, Cumbria, Aspatria, Tarns, Solfest, 29th Solfest. No support act but a little opening from Wizardmara. The Music in the show and the general atmosphere from the crowd and how excited the band were to be there. No hates, but it started raining and there wasn't enough room to dance. Well worth £80 for the whole weekend. The strawberry millions thrown into the crowd and the people Who had made spoonfish. Will definatly be there to see them next solfest. // 9
I'm confused.
I clicked this to see what Pikey Beatz was, and I now think they are a band who played at a festival called Solfest, but with no support act? It's a bit all over the place and un-self-explanatory :/
This has to be some kind of self-promotion. No offense, it's just that its a little too high for a review of a local band of kids who probably played those one or two stops on the Solfest, and from what I've seen in Youtube, they don't have near the stage presence as I'd gathered from the review.
It's just a kid band. Not saying they wouldn't be good in some time, but was this really so amazing?
This is definately not self promotion, none of the band has anything to do with the review. How can you judge their stage presence from a computer screen. I know they're amazing but don't take my word, go to solfest forum or cumberland news solfest review on their website or better still see them at solfest next year LIVE!!!
