Sound: Since the first time I heard Shinedown I have been adicted to their music. Every song on their album "Leave A Whisper" has meaning and a message behind it. Hearing the "guys" play live always gives me chills, Brent (lead singer) has such moving voice and always sings with such compassion. I have seen them in concert 4 times now and they are, in my opinion, the best band to see live. // 10
Perfomance: At every concert, the crowd is always into the music. The band has a way of getting their fans to feel the music. Unlike most bands Shinedown always includes all of the fans because like Brent says, "if it wasn't for the fans, they wouldn't be a band." My favorite song they play would have to be "45" this song is about hope, eventhough there has been a lot of missunderstanding about its meaning. The feeling of this song has helped me through many personal problems. The main thing that I love about this band as people, they always hang out after the show to give out autographs and to take pictures with their fans. They believe that their fans come before anything. I have seen them so much that they actually know Who I am when they see me, which is more than I can say for some bands. // 10
Impression: The first time I saw them was in Lexington KY at Rupp Arena, they were the openers along with Tantric. My first time seeing them live, and I was up in the top of the arena, kind of sucked because I wasn't as close as I'd like to have been. Because it was one of the band's first concerts, they were kind of shy on stage. The second concert was in Louisville, KY at a small venue called Jillian's, the openers were Silvertide, Breckinridge (local band) and Renalt (also a local band.) I really enjoyed this show because it was in a small place. The openers really got the crowd ready to see them.
The third show was in Lexington again at another small venue called Avio, with Soil. And the latest show was at Jillan's again, the openers were Silvertide, and Crossfade. This was my overall favorite show I've seen of them. Unlike the other shows, there was crowd surfing and mosh pits! The guys really got into the music and tore the place up. That show holds the record for the number of people attending a concert at Jillian's. At the smaller venues, tickets are anywhere from 10-15 bucks which is GREAT! I think the smaller places are better for bands like this to play because of the feeling of the place. The shows have been well worth the money, and then some! all of the concerts have been off-the-wall. I will always remember the first show I ever went to. The guys were just standing around outside of the arena by the merchendise stand and I was like "its... its... its Shinedown!" and they all turned around and I walked up to then to get their autographs and I was shaking because I was nervous and Barry (the drummer) said "you don't have to be scared sweetheart!) from then on I have hung out with the guys for at least a half an hour after the show just to catch up on things! There is no question about it, the next time the guys are anywhere near Kentucky, you better believe I will be there! // 10
