Sound: The overall sound of the concert was amazing. Brain Aubert's voice and guitar playing was phenomenal. Brian Aubert used a Vintage semi-hollow Epiphone and Nicki used a Gibson Thunderbird and it seemed like Chris just played on a simple 4 or 5 peice kit but with the crash symbol 2 feet above his head. Joe Lester, the keyboardist did very well recreating the sounds and effects as you would hear in the album. It was also amazing how Brian Aubert played his solos just like the recordings but even better. His voice was also great even though he had to also carry the pressure of playing lead guitar. // 10
Perfomance: I personally loved the Silversun Pickups how they played. I think everyone in the audience can agree with me.
A few of the songs they played were (not in any order):
01. Lazy Eye: great song. Always loved it. It was an Encore at the show.
02. Panic Switch: amazing. As soon as they started playing that song everyone in the room went crazy.
03. Kissing Families: also wonderful. Nicki sang a big chunk of it. Amazing.
04. It's Nice to Know You Work Alone: great start to a show.
05. Substitution: who knew Brian Aubert was also good at screaming as he is in the studio?
06. Well Thought Out Twinkles: sweet song.
I didn't really like how they started off with slow songs though. It made some of the energy leave the room.
The decorations to the show were outstanding. They set up a white screen in the back of them to illuminate effects in the back of them. It made it so much more fun to listen to them. // 9
Overall Impression: I saw the Silversun Pickups in the Wellmont Theatre in Montclair, NJ on June 24th. The Henry Clay People and Against Me! Opened for the Silversun Pickups that night. The Henry Clay People played about 5 songs and were pretty interactive with the audience, and Against Me! Played about 7 songs and brought so much energy to the stage. I loved how everyone in the room was going wild over every band. It was a great mix. The preformance and sound was incredible. I really didn't like how it took 30 minutes to start up each band, sometimes 45 minutes. The show started at 8, and ended past 12. The ticket costed $30 (about 22 euros), which was definetly worth the show, no doubt. I would - without hesitant - go to their next gig. It was just so amazing. // 9
