Sound: A first-class live show, The View have managed to prefect their preformances in such a short time. Using a semi-acoustic rythm guitar and a Gibson Les Paul DoubleCut for lead, the sound is as amazing as the album. Unfortunately, on the night the bass amp wouldn't work properly so the band lost out on one element, however they made up for it with brilliant vocals by both Kyle (lead guitar) and Kieran (bass, Skag Trendy & Grans For Tea). // 9
Perfomance: The audience went absolutely mental, chanting The View! The View! The View Are On Fire! People were bouncing on the floor, dancing like they had never danced before. The boys made a smashing entrance with Comin' Down, then proceeded to play (not in order): Wasted Little DJ's, Skag Trendy, Grans For Tea, The Don, Don't Tell Me, Screamin' And Shoutin', Same Jeans, Superstar Tradesman and Posh Boys. The crowd were really involved, shouting Manchester! Manchester! (which was killed when someone shouted Stockton-on-Tees). However, the energy of the crowd got a little too much and someone flung a bottle of water onto the stage, hitting Kieran in the face. He immediately turned to the thrower and spat at them. // 7
Impression: This was the NME Indie Rock Tour 2007 at Manchester Academy (4th February). The show was opened by Mumm-Ra, then The Horrors played, followed by The View and then closed up by The Automatic. The crowd were very involved as the show progressed, by the end people were surfing their way onto the stage. Tickets cost about £17.50, but it was a small price to pay for the class that was on show. I would advise everyone Who likes Indie rock to go and see any of the bands on show except The Horrors, Who were so bad the crowd boo-ed them off stage. // 9
