Jam packed full of quality acts, the sound was amazing. The main stage was pumping both days with bands such as The Pixies, The Strokes, Muse and NERD, something for everyone.

Sound: Jam packed full of quality acts (and a few that just shouldn't be mentioned), the sound was amazing. The main stage was pumping both days with bands such as The Pixies, The Strokes, Muse and NERD, something for everyone, and it was all delivered with just aceness. The Music choice stage gave fans of some good underground and some new smaller bands what they wanted. And the NME stage gave us Casabian, The Zutons, Dashboard Confessional, Keane, The Killers and Kings Of Leon. The only downside was that monkeys could have levelled the NME stage better than the technical staff. Luckily they got the overdriven bass sorted for Kings Of Leon on Sunday Night. // 8

Perfomance: Everybody seemed to enjoy everything. Apart from the All-American Rejects Who were, really, just a bit sh--t. From what I heard, people seemed to not enjoy the Strokes and much as was expected. They were very high, but still belted out a good set. The unexpected crowd pleaser was NERD, Who gave such a good show, everyone just ignored the crowd surfing ban, got merry and had a good thrash about. Brilliant, and enjoyed by people Who aren't into that kind of music. Dido Who was not the kind of act you'd really expect, was a Festival Virgin before V. // 10

Overall Impression: V Festval, Weston Park, Stafford, Staffordshire, England. Saturday 21st August 2004, & Sunday 22nd August 2004. Headliners - Pixies, Strokes, Dido, Muse. Others - The Killers, Kings Of Leon etc. 7 Stages, non stop over 2 days. Definately worth the money. You can get weekend passes, day tickets, Camping and Camper Vans. Unfortunately Jet had to cancel due to family circumstances but nevertheless - bloody brilliant. Muse blew the lid off for me - sealing the weekend, by playing Sunday Night on the main stage. Athlete were also awesome as were the Thrills, the Killers - it was all good (except for the All-American Rejects). I'm booking up for next year definately. Try and get there. Also - Stafford is way better than Chelmsford! // 10
