Sound: Van Halen started the show with one of their smash hits. A rendition of "You Really Got Me". At first the band's sound was a little messed up. Roth's mic was a little too low and the other band member's mics were way too high. But after the second song the audio was fixed and they sounded great. Eddie Van Halen was of course shredding the hits on an array of guitars including Frankenstein, his son wolfgang on bass, Alex Van Halen on drums, and David Lee Roth on vocal duties for the first time in over 20 years. // 9

Perfomance: This band really knows how to put on a show. Roth is such a great showman. He did tons of cool tricks, there's even a part in the show where him and Eddie have a showdown. They each make the sound of a motorcycle revving up (Roth with his mouth, Eddie with his guitar) each trying to outdo the other. The band played many of their hits "you really Got Me", "Jump", "Runnin' With The Devil", and an interesting version of "Eruption". The audience couldn't get enough of it. When Roth would hold out the mic for the crowd to sing along the response was overwhelming. The crowd would go wild at every little trick this band could pull and lemme tell you they were good. // 10

Overall Impression: The performance took place at The Cox Arena in San Diego, CA. on November 25, 2007. The opening act for Van Halen was Ky-Mani Marley, son of legendary reggae artist Bob Marley. I give this show a 10 out of 10 for such an amazing performance. They performed many of their greatest hits and I absolutely loved the pure showmanship of this band.I try to think of something I hated about this show and there is none I can find. My ticket cost $175.00 and it was worth every penny. If they ever come back to my city I will gladly pay to see them again. // 10
