To best describe these pick ups I would say they are very balanced almost like a clean slate ready to be colored by the amp/guitar.

Ultimately these pickups are pretty awesome. They're versatile, quiet, look good, are well built, they're unique, well-endorsed (not counting myself), and can transform your amp more than you realize.

The overall output of this set is more than a stock strat but they aren't necessarily high gain, just ballsier than your average stock pickup.
