Paul Reed Smith SE Custom Metal Riff
For this little ditty, I tuned my SE Custom to drop-D in order to test its metal capabilities. I used my trusty Hot Rod Deluxe amp, and a not so trusty Boss MetalZone distortion pedal. The amp was set @ 5.5/6/4.5/4 (treble/bass/mid/presence respectively) and the metalzone was set at 5.5/6/3/3(mid freq).
I really dug the way the SE Custom sounded with these riffs. Tight and chunky. All you metalheads with triple recs or JCMs will love this guitar. Oh, and by the way, this was all bridge pickup.

Paul Reed Smith SE Custom Shred Lick
For this 1 and a half seconds of audio, I played fast. The action of the guitar helped.

Paul Reed Smith SE Custom Funk Clean/Blues Lead
The Loop for this track was created in ReasonĀ®. I used the neck pickup through my fender Hot Rod Deluxe amp for the rhythm track. Let me just say, this is one funky guitar! I set the amp @ my usual settings (5.5/6/4.5/4). For the lead, I stayed with the neck pickup and got a nasty nasally sound that was fantabulous. I used the distortion channel of the amp and set the gain to 3.5.

Paul Reed Smith SE Custom Jazz Clean (Bossa Rhythm) & Jazz Lead
To show off the SE customs fat jazz tones, I went straight into a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, I rolled the tone knob back to 0 and poof! Jazz tone. Of course the guitar could use some heavier strings, but that's simply my preference. But even with a set of 9's the SE custom gets a great tone that'd be at home on any jazz gig.
