I agree with espen it sounds different to that. there is a little more before that 0 on the low e string.

i think the correct way to play the verse is a mix of both the original and andrewbiles version.. its more like the original, G is the tonic with the 5th.

this is very accurate.. However, when you say back to verse in the end of the tab, thats wrong. The last verse is very different from the rest. And the last chorus has some variations as well. Not to mention the arpeggio at the end... this is very good but incomplete

It seems ridiculous to hear someone say "beats Cohen's VERSION". I mean, he created the song--with his murky signature. John Cale covered it singing the verses an octave higher than Cohen--it's when those verses stretch the vocal range that they really come to life. Buckley took that and put a beautiful guitar and a beautiful voice to it. In fact it became so beautiful that some might miss the distinction between these Hallelujahs and the ones they sing in church.

The record is in the original key of C. The official music video has Jeff playing it with a Capo on 6, it sounds great this way. I love the intro to this version, a bit different than the record as well. As far as the nitpicking on the tab, RELAX! This tab, though inaccurate, represents a great effort and is as close as it needs to be. Use your brain and your ears and stop relying soleley on the work of other people. If you hear more than one version of this song you will realize the Jeff, like most great guitarists, usually play their songs slightly different all the time, so most tabs you find will be inaccurate. Use these tabs as clues and figure out your own way to play this, because that is what it is all about making a song your own not just copying someone else. Huge thanks to the tabber! Your work, especially on the intro, has helped me greatly to suss out some of what Jeff does and help improve my own arrangement. Keep it up!

In the very first part of the intro he strikes the open E string at the end of the second phrase, you missed that out. It's not essential however, but it is if you want it to be more atmospheric.

Yeah it sounds a little different because he plays it with tons of reverb, so you might not think it sounds the same.
