Try capo on 5. Play CFCGF. It sounds a little higher, but is easier to play.

Don't cop out for an easier way to play. Sure, it's bloody difficult to switch from that F to Bb to C, but it's worth it if you want it to sound better and know how to switch from barre to open.

Tab is right, three chords in the whole song. Doesn't have the synth thing, but that's okay; it isn't guitar.

The synth thing uses the same chords, and you can get that sound from a bagpipe setting on a keyboard.

That's what my band does.

This tab is perfect.

This tab's pretty good, but I like to play it in E (I.e. drop it down a semi) and use open chords... I.E.
E[012200] B[799800] A[577600]
When you were young you were the king of carrot flowers

Etc. That sounds really nice acoustically, and is only a semitone down so it doesn't change the character of the song.

it should be 'until' not 'till' no wonder why it sounded wrong when i was playing it

You can also capo 1st fret and play E, A, and B relative to capo...

he plays without the capo in the clip ive seen on youtube...but the studio version sounds like capo 5....and i think thats a melodica, btw

Actually I think he plays the chords in the tab, but barre chords in lieu of open chords. Like keep that F barre chords shape and then slide it up to 6th fret for the Bb, then up to 8th fret for the C. It's a lot of sliding around on the fretboard but I think it sounds closer to the studio version.

I agree entirely, woundedpigeon. I'm kind of a beginner, and this song is totally impossible with open chords. With 6th root barre chords, it's pretty easy and also a good exercise for barres.
1st fret = F
6th fret = Bb
8th fret = C

If you don't like the super high notes in the barres, just play the lowest 4 or 5 strings.

Why is it so difficult to switch from F to Bb to C? Just barre everything. F and Bb on 1st and C on 3rd fret. Just slide the C back down to 1st for Bb. It's easier than playing opens with a capo and you don't have to slide all the way down the neck to get to the Bb and C.

F [133211]
Bb [113331]
C [335553]

hope this helps.

I usually play F Bb F G C, I think it sounds better like that...

I use bar chords, I think it sounds better that way but that's just me.

Bjorn, a G chord isn't even in key here. It's definitely correct as written.

I'm pretty sure C isn't after F.
