Played correctly, the song is not played with chords. Hold a G chord, and play strings 6-3-2-3-4-3. Then hold a C/G and play 5-3-2-3-4-3. Then hold a D chord and play 4-3-2-3-4-3. That's it.
Best chord version of this song you're going to find in my mind. I think this song sounds great all three ways, all plucked, all strummed, or a little of both. There is already a great picking tab for this song on here, and this is a great version of the chords. Great job.
The one thing I'll comment on though, but I agree with KingFender, it's Gadd9 and Cadd9. Also, Em7, in my opinion, sounds better than just an Em. It might not be right, but I just think it sounds nice - but I think in the actual song the tone is lower than Em7 so you're probably right.
hey... first: really great tab! love it but i've got a question though... its a silly one, i know but i have to
ask... i dont quite understand what the numbers behind the chord names mean (e.g. in the solo or the interlude -> G-4,
C-4 and so on) can somebody pls help me???
I like this tab because it has the chords above the words and accurately. I already know what chords to play and what string to pick; all I need is when to do it, and this tab delivers! A+
lol epople are soo funny about strumming patterns they seem so important when u first start playing but within liek a couple months ull be able to alpply a strumming pattern to a song that doesnt even have guitars just use ur inuition. but for those who want to know it sounds nice if u do what a couple people said and hit top few strings for the first stroke then play it out on the bottom doesnt matter tho.
if you change the chords to completely different ones it doesn't sound like the song at all. how bizarre.. . . i also changed the lyrics and it sounded different too - otherwise very good tab!
intro; pick g 6th string then 4th 3rd 4th. then pick g 6th 4th 3rd 2nd 3rd 4th 3rd twice. then once pick C 5th 3rd 2nd 1st 2nd 3rd 2nd, then D 4th 3rd 2nd 1st 2nd 3rd 2nd. looks hard but very easy
ya its perfect but there is no C in that song at all, i sound like an ******* but im just making a small correction. okay so on the g chord your first and second finger are on the 5th and 6th string. you move them down one string so your first finger will be on 4th string second fret and your second finger will be on the 5th string third fret. wow this is a long comment.
This is a repost that Hobbyz posted above. Check it out, it will show you all the right chords and strumming pattern. there is good video on youtube that shows the strumming pattern.... check it out
Clearly judging by what everyone else says it's a Cadd9 instead of a C. I usually strum the whole thing, it's easier & still sounds pretty close to right. But I'm pretty new to guitar =)
Oh and if anyone wants a video tutorial, yourguitarsage on youtube has one.
Why is everyone asking how to pluck?? This is a chord tab and it means you get chords... If you want to know how to pluck just search for a normal tab, though it isn't hard to find out. And as others say: C has to be Cadd9 (x32033)
great tab! thank you but i just wanted to let people know that i use Gadd9, Cadd9, em7, and dsus4. it sounds better to me. but thank you for such an awesome, easy to play tab. (:
For anyone who wants to know...The lyrics in the second verse are wrong. It is "Dead skin on trial" not "this test." Also, There is a "So" before "...take the photographs." This matters to me because I sing too.
And it actully is a regular G major chord. I don't know why people confuse the two so much. There are many ways to play the same chord. For instance G major 320003 or G 320033
Nice tab man i hope i can give ya a lil help and clarity fellas the song has four beats. 1,2 an 3,4 an. If ya'll r not sure what i mean by that. Its strummed d,d,u,d,d,u. The c you have in your verse should be a C9. the intro is same as the verses two measures of G, then one of C9 and D. Repeat. the chorus is Em,D,C,G do that twice then Em,G,Em,G,Em,D back to G and thats all there is to it. I hope thats clears up some stuff for ya guys o the intro picken is G chord pick the E, G,D twice the switch to C9 pick the A,G,D once switch to D chord and pick D,B,G. And repeat. If im wrong please let me know. Because i been messen it up. Great tab though man 5 star all the way!
for every C chord after a G chord it sounds better with a Cadd9 which is just a G with ur first two fingers moved back a string, also hold down the third fret on the B string (2nd from the bottom) as well....the C after the E minor is best as a normal C chord tho
so did I! first song i learned how to play...well after yankee doodle :P But that is the strumming i do to, i wouldnt be able to explain cuz i just kinda DO it, but best explaniation ive seen :)
320033 is not a G9 it's just a regular Gmajor traid with the notes G B D. G9 would have an extra A note and would look like 320203. The C9 (actually called a Cadd9) is right though I think.
but still good
anyone seen my tuner?
still a sweet tab

sorry
if its not right then its really close
nice job

Tattoos of memories and dead skin on trial
For what it's worth etc.
Just a minor thing there. Great tab, cheers
down down, up down up
or down down up, up down
I prefer the second one personally
Excellent tab, tho i do believe it is a C9 but great regardless
this song lives on and on.
OTW: how the heck should know which strings to pluck?
looks hard but very easy
there is good video on youtube that shows the strumming pattern.... check it out

Still great tab ;)
and a G9 320033
Em-4 D-4 C-4 C-4
should be
Em-4 D-4 C-4 G-4
Em-4 D-4 C-4 G-4
right???
Haven't played this song since I started out guitar... wow, that was a looong time ago.
Instead of
"Tattoos the memories and this test go on trial"
It should be
"Tattoos of memories and dead skin on trial."
Besides that, it's a great tab :)

Picking I use is in this song is first plucking the root note followed by G, High E, G, and B strings.
