The fourth and fifth notes should be switched in the first 5 measures in the intro verse. I know, technically they're the same note, but they're different enough in sound for it to make a difference. Otherwise he would have tabbed it 0-0-3 or 5-5-3, right?
This was a great tab. I didn't find anything wrong with it. I looked at the tab and listened to the song at the same time like 3 times to make sure. It kicked ass.

Hey, great tab! I bought the book for the faster song tabs and this is perfect. The only thing that differs is the solo and yours is correct except up one string from the book.
Put spaces between my numbers thingys? I'll assume you're referring to the solo part of my tab. I realized that there were no spaces in between the numbers in the solo, but I was trying to keep the measures consistant, so that each space was equal to 1/16th note. I assumed that most people were smart enough to figure out that 1212 did not mean play the 1,212th fret, and since I've had no complaints about it until you posted, it turns out that most people ARE smart enough, and you aren't.

The recent edit about the C chord is a gud one coz thats how Billie-Joe plays it live. However, i still play the regualr C it sounds a bit better coz i like to use the open strings whenever i can instead of the fretted alternative i think its sounds beta. i have got use to the transcaction as well from the c to the wht is it Cm or summat
This is a great tab. I have the official tab book for it and it almost perfectly matches the real thing. The correction is right, the book says that you play a C barre chord and not the open chord. The only correction that i can make is that the solo actually goes
C'mon, people. Stop sending me emails about the solo and how it should be played on the B and e strings. (see above comment) I got the tab book a couple months after I created this tab, and decided to keep my version, since the notes used are the same, and I find my version easier to play. It doesn't matter what fret position you play it at, as long as you are playing the right notes.

Please use the comments section to comment on the quality of the tab, and not as a way to rip on the band who made the song. I've only just started learning the guitar recently, so I'm not too familiar with the terminology, but can someone tell me what chord position I should have my left hand in for the first 4 measures of verse 1? I want to know incase there's a quicker way of making the transition from measure 2 to 3.

You're right, kiefer, avengend7foldrox has made only one tab, and all he did was copy a bunch of avengedsevenfold songs from other people and put them in one tab and label it as an "album tab". um...well it doesn't really matter that much now, does it? Although there might be slightly different tone colouring...but that's just a REALLY small detail.
Buy yourself a tuner and know that you have to tune the string lower than standard (or else they'll 'probably' break) You can also find the notes on the fretboard and tune the entire guitar down after it's own different strings... If you want a further explaination, just mail me...
well i have a tuner but it doesnt have c and f and a few other notes on it so i cant tune to some songs until i get a better tuner which will probably never happen cuz my mom wont take me out to get a new one untill i get my new 700$ guitar(which i hope will be soon (yay)) so im screwed till then

But when I heard that Wake Me Up was going to be released as the single after that, I was pretty sure that a lot of people were going to start looking at it. I posted this tab less than a month later on October 13th (see the date of the first comment). The offical tab book was published exactly THREE MONTHS after my tab went up, on January 13th, 2005. This is all information that can be obtained in about 90 seconds using Google. Look it up. Do the math. Those 90 seconds of research would've saved you from looking like an idiot, but now it's too late.

What do you mean? I tabbed it so that every dash is equal to a 16th note, and therefore every other dash is an 8th note. Just play it like it's tabbed, and you shouldn't have any problems.

W.M.U.W.S.E. solo. ok if u go to AOL.com and search in the videos and type like 'Wake Me Up When September Ends' you can see them play live in AOL's studio. and THERE! you can see how they play their solo. they play it around the 12ish fret area so dan u were right but when u play a long with the recored version like from the CD the 7-8 thing is the way to go. and i haven't tested the solo for the AOL ting cus i can't play it anymore or my computer will freeze on me (Windows '98) so yea. peace

You will need to prove first that the tab you are looking at is exactly the same, and you will need to prove that the tab you are looking at was posted before 10/13/2004. That's when my tab went up. it's really good...but just one thing i think would make it easier... in the intro and other parts where you have G--0 D-5- A--- E--- Those are harmonics and you don't have to play the 5 unless you just want to sweep it...otherwise they're the same

like everyone else you fail to realize that on a well tuned guitar(standard) a note played on the fifth fret is the same as a the next string up played open except g
So yeah, it's sort of like the chords in the chorus, but up one octave. I'm also pretty sure there's a delay on both of those parts. And there's also a first chord I didn't show, because it is ridiculously high, and my guitar only has 22 frets, so I'm not sure.

Because in the song, the D note, or in this case, the 15th fret on the 2nd string, is lower than the G and F#, or the 12th and 11th frets on the 3rd string. So the D note is lower.

I got the tab book a couple months after I created this tab, and decided to keep my version, since the notes used are the same, and I find my version easier to play. It doesn't matter what fret position you play it at, as long as you are playing the right notes.

I'll tell you AGAIN, my tab has been here since October of 2004, you can tell just by scrolling up and looking at the date of the first comment. The tab on MXtabs just went up a few months ago. Why do you think the tab there has no "tabbed by" on it?

But when I heard that Wake Me Up was going to be released as the single after that, I was pretty sure that a lot of people were going to start looking at it.

The tab rocks, good job. I can see why everyone thinks its copied. It is, everyone copies it off the same song, no wonder why others are so close to DanSumthings. They are close, but not the same, his is the best I've seen for this song.

I tabbed it so that every dash is equal to a 16th note, and therefore every other dash is an 8th note. Just play it like it's tabbed, and you shouldn't have any problems.

Somethings have not sounded right when i played,turns out Ive been playing in the wrong measure(call me a dumbass)
and,eh...Discofootman,and anyone else trying to correct it that way,its in the same notes,try learning about alternate fret positions that give out the same notes,Its pretty much the same as Ive seen,usually alternate fret positions would give out a different "tone" although it is in the same note,thats beacause of the string thickness and stuff like that,all in all,Dan,you did awesome work...coming from a 13 year old kid,I hope this is mature enough for you..haha

So yeah, it's sort of like the chords in the chorus, but up one octave. I'm also pretty sure there's a delay on both of those parts. And there's also a first chord I didn't show, because it is ridiculously high, and my guitar only has 22 frets, so I'm not sure.

Because in the song, the D note, or in this case, the 15th fret on the 2nd string, is lower than the G and F#, or the 12th and 11th frets on the 3rd string. So the D note is lower.
Other than that it's an awesome tab.
