It does my head in when a tab gets solid 5-stars rating and a bunch of comments saying it's all wrong.

I reccommend the strumming pattern D D D DU (D - Down, U - Up) Played fairly quickly. It's not exactly how it's played in the Dolly Parton version because I think she finger picks, but it sounds alright!

sounds good to me

The song is in C# minor, this tab is made to be played with a capo on the 4th fret.

A decent strumming pattern would be

D D U U D U at quite a quick pace, though not being able to give you note values makes it kinda tricky to explain :/ Basically if a rhythm is broken down into 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 1 and 2 and etc. every number counted and every and is an 8th note (quaver) so a strumming pattern played on every single one of these would be:

1 & 2 & 3 & 4 &

So the pattern I suggested:

1 & 2 & 3 & 4 &
4 8 4 8 8 8 (note value)

it just skips some of the ups or downs :) Hopefully I explained that alright. Just remember to keep your arm swinging :)

Great tab, but like everyone else said, it's played with a capo on IV! :)

If using capo, I'd recommend picking mainly strings b, g, d, a, with pam mute, releasing fingers that hold that A-minor according to your feeling. I like the arrangement made by those poor bastards that accompanied Miley Cyrus, performing this song on "Backyard Sessions".
