The reson he uses a capo is because if you pull off the descending bass notes (9 on D, 9 on A, 9 on E, 11 on E) sometimes the strings (D, A, E) can ring out slightly and it sounds off.
Also, having a capo there makes it easy to imagine the fretboard normally as oppose to playing a totally different chord as to what he was originally made it as.

first of all, in verse 2 the power chords should be played on 3 strings, and there are no open notes
second, the interlude should be like this

JustinSational, Amber Pacific's "Gone So Young" is so gay, like all their songs. Mmm, but I love it! Awesome album, even if I am too old and too male to be caught listening to it Ican'thelpit! I definately don't think Carousel or Stay Together for the Kids is better than Gone So Young though. Poetically Pathetic is my favy :)
