It's definitely right. Just take note of the words 'Capo 2'

short tab, verses missing. its really not a one star but it was rated 5 and i had to bring that down
June 16 2007, 08:01 pm by tacobell444 |
'flyinggoatchees' all the verses are the same...all the chords are there, figure it out for urself, 5 star tab...

well if it's all the same it'd be nice if it said that. we don't look up tabs so we can figure most of it out ourselves.

it is assumed. if it were different then there would probably be more. if you listen to the song you can tell its the same. defiantly a 5 star tab

you must all be tone deaf. "capo 2" does not make this correct at all. and besides even if you did not capo it, it would just be in a drifferent key. but this is wrong all around.(ver 2) is correct other that the Fm which should be F#m.

play this tab without a capo you're in key of G...
ver 2 without a capo is in the key of A.
if you count up two
half-steps from G, you're in A. so... they are both the same chords, just different forms. all just I V vi IV.

if
you were feeling extra sassy you could put a capo 9, and play
C G Am F

it's all the same chords in the end.

i understand what you are saying indiglopulse, but its sounds much better and more like the album when play with the
open chords in the key of a. ( a, e, f#m, d)

Willie Watson plays this song with a capo on 2. It sounds better that way.

all the verses are the same nahhhhh son here you go
Headed down south to the land of the pines
And I'm thumbin' my way into North Caroline
Starin' up the road
And pray to God I see headlights

I made it down the coast in seventeen hours
Pickin' me a bouquet of dogwood flowers
And I'm a hopin' for Raleigh
I can see my baby tonight

So rock me mama like a wagon wheel
Rock me mama anyway you feel
Hey mama rock me
Rock me mama like the wind and the rain
Rock me mama like a south-bound train
Hey mama rock me

Wagon Wheel lyrics are based on an original chorus by Bob Dylan, penned as Rock Me Mama in 1972 for the film soundtrack to Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid

I was born to be a fiddler in an old-time stringband
My baby plays the guitar
I pick a banjo now

Oh, the North country winters keep a gettin' me now
Lost my money playin' poker so I had to up and leave
But I ain't a turnin' back
To livin' that old life no more

So rock me mama like a wagon wheel
Rock me mama anyway you feel
Hey mama rock me
Rock me mama like the wind and the rain
Rock me mama like a south-bound train
Hey mama rock me

Walkin' to the south out of Roanoke
I caught a trucker out of Philly
Had a nice long toke
But he's a headed west from the Cumberland Gap
To Johnson City, Tennessee

And I gotta get a move on fit for the sun
I hear my baby callin' my name
And I know that she's the only one
And if I die in Raleigh
At least I will die free

So rock me mama like a wagon wheel
Rock me mama anyway you feel
Hey mama rock me
Rock me mama like the wind and the rain
Rock me mama like a south-bound train
Hey mama rock me

I need to figure out the violin part so I can have my brother play it with me. It sounds great if you use a resonator guitar instead of a regular one, I might add.

This is how you play the little fiddle part at the end:

...C.........................G
e|-0--3--0-------------------1-------------------------|
B|-1--------3--1--0----------0-------------------------|
G|-0----------------0--2--3--0-------------------------|
D|-2-------------------------0-------------------------|
A|-3-------------------------2-------------------------|
E|-0-------------------------3-------------------------|
