Good job. Sounds Right. Some people don't have a suboctive pedal for there guitar thats why there is a bass tab. Even though there is only 1 guitar and 1 drummer in WS. Good Tab.

im pretty sure we ALL know that there is no bass in the song, but holy shit guys if ur a bass player and want to play a cool tune ( in which i think it is ) u can STILL play it on bass, we all know its played on guitar but that dusnt mean u cant play it on ne other instrument, shoot if i was a violin player i would still try to play it......lol

theres something called a studio. sometimes live, there is another bass player. sometimes there is a sub-octave. my band plays it live. i play the bass. no there isnt a bass player for them, but there is a actual bass on the recorded version, (normally)a sub octave live.

So many people being idiots here.. NO, they don't have a bassist. But Jack White used a pedal to lower the guitar, so it SOUNDS like a bass anyway. You try to get a deep enough note on a normal guitar with no pedals (which most people playing this probably don't have), it CAN'T BE DONE.

So it SOUNDS like a bass. Why can't people play it on bass or tab it for bass?

yes... there is not a bassist in the white stripes but that doesnt mean you cant use a bass to get practically the same sounding notes. its like having a set of bongos that has effects that make it sound like a keyboard.. you can still use those bongos for keyboard sounds

there is no bass in this song. the original one, written and preformed by the white stripes, contains no other instruments than a guitar and a drumset. I saw them live, i should know.

waht's with all the arguing over if there's a bassist or not, it doesn't really matter. it sounds like bass so there's a tab for bassists. like some people said, there is a studio and yes there are pedals, but for bands that aren't just two people there's a bass. it's a five star tab and the guitar can not reach that low and still play the higher notes in the song without some help(be it studio or pedal or bass) end of argument

Honestly people, does it really matter how Jack and Meg play the song in the studio vs live?? Is everyone on this site going to make a band that only plays White Stripes songs exactly the way they play them? I highly doubt it. This site is for those of us that just want to learn the song. Maybe we'll play it while jamming out with our friends. Maybe we'll just sit in our underwear and play along to a cd. But however we want to play it is cool. So, should that matter to any one else on here? No, it should not. So why don't all you haters just get a life.

As for the tab here, this is technically right, but I would play this song entirely on the E string. Sounds way better. Sounds way cooler too.

oops! sorry about the last comment... i figured out that it's really guitar but he uses a pedal to bring it an octave or to down in the song..... but if you dont play guitar and you don't have the pedal, then this tab is perfect except for in part B where there is some kind of pull off or something:

Jack White used the digitech whammy pedal to lower the guitar to make the bass sound :)thts what he uses live! it even says in the album booklet tht its just Vocals, guitar, drums and piano were the only things used :) never the less i think that it has to be said tht the tab is pretty good and bassists can feel free to play it on a bass guitar, not everyone wants to play in a band with just two people, i play both guitar and bass and they are both great instruments so ill jus play this song either way frankly :)
