March 3 2002, 12:00 am by Muse(ic) ROCKS! |

good job

Terrific tab-though that Abdim/g#e conflict is not too solvable in my opinion-it's pretty tough to decipher
+1   October 5 2002, 12:00 am by Mus(e)ic |
Good tab m8!
Jus one thought though. Try replacing the G#/E with this (xx0100)

great tab
+3   November 30 2003, 12:00 am by UJ_boy |
Erm......u do no that Ab and G# are the same note, don't u? So either way, it shouldn't make 2 much difference which ever chord u use. I'd recomend the Abdim but hey, go with which ever suits u.
Tis a good tab!

The G#/E is actually a E/G# (means an E with G# in the bottom). It's much easier just to play an E.
Great song btw ;-)

Few thing:

1. Everytime you see E, play E7.
2. At the pre-chorus, instead of playing G#/E, you need to play E7.
3. Another thing in the pre-chorus - instead of playing G2 and F2, play G, and F.
4. At the end of the song, when you do these chords for the last time: C G Am E7 F G C, instead of the last G, play Fm.

That's it... Great tab, man!

im sorry but...this tab is wrong.
just watch noel performing this song at every gig or at tv and you will see that many of the chords that are on the tab are wrong. you cant tab this song listening to the cd version.
i have decided to tab it right (just the way he plays it) so if you want to take a look at it it's version #3.
if you have any doubt about the chords, download a video where he is playing the song and you will agree with what im saying.

the chord that u said u saw in a magazine (xx0101) is D dim :D
November 30 2005, 03:53 pm by PolskaBro1824 |
The "ONE" chord that is the cause for so much confussion is 430400
Thanks to the job by "TheCatInTheHat" on his 'Let There Be Love' to make this clear to me that Noel plays that on Let There Be Love and also Dont Look Back In Anger. (Proof on video by the way...)

Cheers

wrong chords
June 28 2006, 01:23 pm by ystuk85 |
i think the other g chord is simply a G# and you play the previous G chord as a barre chord then an Am barre chord then back to F then G barre chord again
+2   June 28 2006, 01:23 pm by ystuk85 |
not a G#/E which is almost impossible 2 do!
July 26 2006, 02:00 pm by c_p |
might not b exact
but its pretty dam close
very iffy about the G#/E
September 2 2006, 11:16 am by Stodaz |
Tab is alright....at least for the unplugged version
I love playing after the first F in the Intro Fmaj and Fmaj7add#11 (x33200) short to C or however u would call this chord xDD
cheers

not bad at all

A straight-forward E sounds better than the controversial G#/E in any case.
-3   January 23 2007, 01:38 pm by tom melling |
it doesnt sound right
+5   March 29 2007, 01:29 pm by dampysmiff |
Another case of mixing up where you put the bassnote in chord notation. If you have a chord with an altered bass, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE put it after the chord. If you don't the notation falls to crap. G#/E could easily mean a G# chord with an E in the bass. The fact that it isn't confused me when I first looked at this tab, as Chord/Bass Note is standard notation. Try to at least follow some conventions, otherwise it's confusing as hell.
+1   April 8 2007, 12:39 pm by oasislad06 |
play e7 instead of g#/e
April 30 2007, 03:21 pm by stugg |
Muse(ic) rocks is correct, the E/G or whatever is actually a diminished chord. I play it as G#dim (4x343x) but xx1010 and xx3434 are the same chord in different voicing.

FOR THE G#/E PLAY A G LIKE THIS 320033 AND THEN WHEN IT COMES TO THE G#/E SLIDE IT ALL UP ONE FRET SO YOU'RE PLAYING 430044 THAT'S THE RIGHT CHORDS TAB SPOT ON EXCEPT THAT G SLIDE UP A FRET

The reason this song is so difficult to tab by ear is that after recording it, Noel lowered (or raised!) the pitch slightly by about a semitone so even though your chord "shapes" are (almost) correct - you could play along to the CD and you will sound completely out of key.
+2   June 8 2008, 05:07 pm by Coronas |
Looks like a good reason, but in that case you only need to slightly adjust the guitar's tuning, just like in "No Surprises" from Radiohead - the CD version has a lower pitch if you compare it to live versions. You just flat a little the strings and boom! - sounds just like the album version.
+2   June 8 2008, 05:09 pm by Coronas |
As long as it sounds perfect with live versions, the tab is correct
+1   June 12 2008, 05:12 pm by Coronas |
i found out the "correct" way to play this
before you start throwing the chords, you have to tune up a little your strings (something like 1/4 of a tone). you can do this better if you have a tuner

then just try it, it sounds perfect xD
June 26 2008, 09:03 am by Coronas |
by "tune up" I meant to sharp, not dropping the strings
-4   June 27 2008, 08:23 am by Coronas |
one more correction, in the last chorus the F and Fm are played one octave higher

Nice tab...I THINK that the G on "stand up beside the fireplace" is a Dm...Not 100% though...other than that...brill tab. :)

a capo on the 1st fret makes it sound closer to the original
April 11 2009, 06:48 am by fret21 |
i think the Ab dim / G# dim is played either 4564XX or X2010X
May 3 2009, 04:54 pm by chayes |
I don't know if the chord you have is right or not, but as long as you're playing what you do, the chord you have labeled G#/E and fingered (4x2100) would actually be called E/G#. Otherwise pretty ok.

Does anyone know the guitar solo tab?
June 20 2009, 10:01 pm by jimzer |
G#/E should be

E7/G# = 4x0400
June 26 2009, 02:36 pm by IvanH184 |
The G#/E should be an E chord
