It is definately not an Am chord (or atleast not that chord) And the chord progression is not spread out like that either...

I agree with deprivedwriter. Listen to the song, there's no way anyone could switch between chords like that with the progression being so spread out.

I think that it sounds fine when played and sung with; and drew langworthy is a sexy bitch with a large penis ;) and he did a fine job on this song

Firstly, Coleberryz, stfu. It was clearly constructive criticism. Secondly if you're going to whine about someone's writing you should probably brush up on your grammar and spelling. It's "you're" not "your" and lay off the commas.

Anyway, the chord IS Am. Though not the Am that is shown.
Use either:

-5-
-5-
-5-
-7-
-7-
-5-

or

-8-
-10-
-9-
-7-

i think the tab was perfectly fine with an open position Am and the seventh position E. that's the way i learned it from playing with the cd. it also makes the fills and hammer-ons easier playing it as is

Well because Coleberryz wants a more in depth analysis of this tab, I will give it to him so he doesn't feel too deprived of my writing.

Scratch what I said before about the chord progression, it's spot on as far as the timing is concerned.

While the Am in the 5th position is more accurate, it's not quite right, and it's a little too deep of a tone.

So here's what I think it is, after seeing it live as well as on Sad Clown Bad Dub 13

Intro
e|--7-----7---7--7-7-7-7---7--x----x---x--x-x-x-x---x-|
B|--8-----8---8--8-8-8-8---8--6----6---6--6-6-6-6---6-|
G|--7-----7h9-9--7-7-7-7h9-7--5----5h7-7--5-5-5-5h7-7-|
D|--9-----9---9--9-9-9-9---9--7----7---7--7-7-7-7---7-|
A|--7-----7---7--7-7-7-7---7--5----5---5--5-5-5-5---5-|
E|--x-----x---x--x-x-x-x---x--x----x---x--x-x-x-x---x-|

Picking up the rhythm while listening will be up to you. But those are the two chords, E with I'm guessing a C#min? Can anyone give me a hint on what the 2nd chord is called?

Also the bass note may be played open on the second chord, I'm still uncertain.

That's the way I play it anyway, with a few muted strums in between for added flavor.

Can't I tune it up so I don't have to barre so much?

Anyone figured out the variations in 2:11-2:24? Surprised no one's talked about that. I can't seem to figure it out; I'm no guitarist.

My take is:

7-----5-----
8-----6-----
9-----8-----
9-----8-----
7-----5-----
x-----x-----

For the main part. Just variations on that with strumming and hammer ons.

The variations at the two minute mark sound like:

---------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------0~~--0h2--02h--0h2-----------------------
---0h2--0h2--02h-------02h----------------------------0-0-0-0-2~~~~~-
------------------0h2----------------------------0h2-----------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------

its not bad, it's just missing a few of the chord variations that are by no means hard to figure out. Just pull ons and pull offs. Heard the song for the first time today and I got these same chords, so, good stuff.
