Artist: Brand New
Song: Sic Transit Gloria ... Glory Fades
Album: Deja Entendu

There weren't any tabs for this on UG (or just about anywhere, for that matter),
so I figured I'd post how I play it. Tuning is in Eb, like most Deja songs.

Intro/Verse

Rhythm Guitar:
This is played softly in the background, it's pretty hard to hear, but it's
there. Strum the strings up and down slowly, so its more of an arpeggio than a
full chord strum.

Eb|------------------
Bb|------------------
Gb|------------------
Db|------------------
Ab|--6-6-6-6-6-6-6-6-
Eb|-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4--
pm...................

Bass:
I'm not sure if this is 100% correct, but its close enough. I kinda mess around
with the notes, so however you see fit. You should get the general idea from this though.

Gb|--------------------------------
Db|--------------------------------
Ab|--------------------------------
Eb|-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-5-4-0-4-5-4-5-7

then

Gb|--------------------------------
Db|--------------------------------
Ab|--------------------------------
Eb|-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-5-4-0-5-4-0-5-7

Lead Guitar:
About halfway through the verse the lead comes in with what I hope is the
following. I'm not sure if this is right at all, since I am so dreadfully
horrible at lead guitar it would make your ears bleed. But I took 5 minutes out
of my life to get this.

Eb|-----------------------
Bb|-2~-----4~---7~---5-4--
Gb|-----------------------
Db|-----------------------
Ab|-----------------------
Eb|-----------------------

I know the timing looks odd in tab form, but I believe its: whole note, half
note, quarter, eighth, eighth. That should help a bit.

Chorus

Rhythm Guitar:
Being as I play rhythm, I tend to key in on it more than lead and bass. I can't
hear a great difference between the rhythm and bass, so I assume they're being
played the same way. I can hear lead playing something in the background, but
there's a slim to none chance of me figuring it out.

Eb|-------------------------------------------------------------
Bb|-------------------------------------------------------------
Gb|------------------66666666-11-11-9-9-7-7-9-9-----------------
Db|-6666666666666666-66666666-11-11-9-9-7-7-9-9-7777777777777777
Ab|-6666666666666666-44444444--9--9-7-7-5-5-7-7-7777777777777777
Eb|-4444444444444444----------------------------5555555555555555

The strum pattern is constant, the only reason its spaced out awkwardly is to
make it easier to read.

Bass:
Gb|------------------------------------------------
Db|------------------------------------------------
Ab|----------------4444444499775577----------------
Eb|4444444444444444----------------5555555555555555

Bridge

Rhythm Guitar:
I tried to line up the rhythm and bass as best I could to give you an idea
as to how its played.
Eb|---------------------------------------------------------------
Bb|---------------------------------------------------------------
Gb|-6~-------------------------------6~--------------9~-----------
Db|-6~--------------9~---------------6~--------------9~-----------
Ab|-4~--------------9~---------------4~--------------7~-----------
Eb|-----------------7~--------------------------------------------

Bass:
Gb|----------------------------------------------------------------
Db|----------------------------------------------------------------
Ab|-44-----44------------------------44-----44-------77-----77-----
Eb|----555----555---77-555--77-555------555----555------555----555-

Then the rhythm joins the bass like so:
Eb|----------------------------------------------------------------
Bb|----------------------------------------------------------------
Gb|-66-----66------------------------66-----66-------99-----99-----
Db|-66-777-66-777---99-777--99-777---66-777-66-777---99-777-99-777-
Ab|-44-777-44-777---99-777--99-777---44-777-44-777---77-777-77-777-
Eb|----555----555---77-555--77-555------555----555------555----555-

Lead Guitar:
I'm not too sure with this part, but hey, whatever. It's played throughout the entire brigde.
Eb|-----------------------------------
Bb|-5p3------5p3------5p3------5h7----
Gb|-----4~-------4~-------4~-------4~-
Db|-----------------------------------
Ab|-----------------------------------
Eb|-----------------------------------
Rinse; Dry; Repeat.

Post Bridge

Rhythm:
Simple little part, same as the intro/verse. Halfway into it the bass joins in.

Eb|----------------------------------
Bb|----------------------------------
Gb|----------------------------------
Db|----------------------------------
Ab|--6-6-6-6-6-6-6-6-6-6-6-6-6-6-6-6-
Eb|-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4--
pm...................................

Bass:
Gb|---------------------------------
Db|---------------------------------
Ab|---------------------------------
Eb|-----------------4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-

Then the final chorus played as usual.

Great song by a great band. Its a shame there aren't many tabs around the net
for them, the few that are around are mislabeled and poorly done.
