Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others - The Smiths

This is the album version of the song, but I learned how to play it
primarily from the live recording. If you would like to play the live
version, it's the same thing capoed on 4. Johnny Marr uses a thumb
pick in the live video, but I've found, although it's a bit trickier,
that a flat pick works fine.

Intro
E--------0--------------------0-------------------------------0------------|
B--------------0--------0-----------0--------------------------------------|
G----------------------------------------4-----4--/6-----8----------0------|
D-----6--------------6----------------------4---------7-----7----6-----4---|
A--4--------4-----4--------2-----2-----------------0-----------------------|
E--------------------------------------------------------------------------|

E-------0-------------------------0-------------------4--------------------|

E--------------------------------------------------------------------------|

Main Riff
E-4--------------------0--------------------0------------------0-----------|
B------5--4--------------------7-----------------0-------0----------0------|
G------------4--4/6-----------------8-----4-----------4-----4------------4-|
D---------------6/7--------/9--------------------------------------------6-|

E-------4------------------------------------------------------------------|
B------------4-------------------------------------------------------------|
G----4---------------------------------------------------------------------|
D-6-------------6\5--------------------------------------------------------|
A--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
E--------------------------------------------------------------------------|

This main riff is really the chorus of the song. The only difference between
this and the verse of the song is that the verse skips the first several
notes of the riff. It starts on the second open note played on the
high e string.

Alt. Riff
E-4--------------------0-------------------------0-------------------------|
B------5--4--------------------7-----------------0-------------------------|
G------------4--4/6-----------------8---(x3)-----1---(strum)---------------|
D---------------6/7--------/9--------------------2-------------------------|
A------------------------------------------------2-------------------------|
E------------------------------------------------0-------------------------|

Ending Riff
E-0------------------0-----------------------------------------------------|
B-----------0-----2-------0------------------------------------------------|
G------4-------4---------------4----4/6------(repeat till end)-------------|
D------------------------------4---------6---------------------------------|
A--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
E--------------------------------------------------------------------------|

Although you can't play these two things at the same time, another layer of
guitar on the album version comes in around 2:35. This next riff is that
layer of guitar, in case you wanted to know it. On the album, the song
fades away with at least these two audible guitar parts.

Second Ending Riff
E----4-----------------4---------------------------------------------------|
B---------5---------5-------7----4-----------------------------------------|
G-6------------4/6---------------------------------------------------------|
D--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
A--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
E--------------------------------------------------------------------------|

The live version ends with these chords, held out (fermata).

Live Ending
E-4-----2-----4-----7------------------------------------------------------|
B-5-----4-----5-----5------------------------------------------------------|
G-6-----4-----6-----6------------------------------------------------------|
D-6-----4-----6-----6------------------------------------------------------|
A--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
E--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
