I first had the idea to make a "Foo Fighters song guide" when I read the Rare Nirvana guides (wich rocked!). So here it is the Foo guide.

01. All My Life (Album One By One)

First track and single from One By One. All My Life was recorded at both sessions for One By One. The finished product from the first session included a low-volume feedback intro. Dave confirmed that writing for the song began in 2000 during the first "There Is Nothing Left To Lose" tour.

Released as a two-CD single. B-sides include Sister Europe (Physcidelic Fur cover), Win Or Lose, Danny Says (Ramones cover) & The One.

02. Aurora (Album Theres Nothing Life To Lose)

6th track on There's Nothing Left To Lose. Aurora was originally slated to be a single from There Is Nothing Left To Lose, but Dave didn't think the band could make a profound video for it due to their jocular nature. It is played during the movie "Loser", but is not on the soundtrack.

03. Breakout (Album Theres Nothing Life To Lose)

2nd track and 4th single from There's Nothing Left To Lose. Also appears on the "Me, Myself & Irene" soundtrack. A video was made to support the single, which has the same theme as the actual movie.

Released as a single. B-sides include Iron And Stone (The Obssessed cover), Learn To Fly. Japanese release includes Iron And Stone, Ain't It The Life (acoustic, live), Learn To Fly (live), Stacked Actors (live), B-side of Stacked Actors single.

04. Generator (Album Theres Nothing Life To Lose)

5th track and 3rd single from There's Nothing Left To Lose. Described by Dave as a juxtaposition of 70's punk and 70's rock. It can be heard on the intro of the Breakout video.

Released as a single. B-sides include Ain't It The Life (live, acoustic), Floaty (acoustic), Fraternity & Breakout.

05. Hey, Johnny Park! (Album The Colour And The Shape)

3rd track on The Colour And The Shape. Dave said he named the track after an old friend hoping Mr. Park would hear it and get in touch with Dave again.

06. The Colour And The Shape (B-Side)

3rd track on the Monkey Wrench CD2 single. Sound's like Podunk or Weenie Beeinie.

07. I'm Alone Again (Unreleased)

A great Foo Fighters song that was sadly never released. Recorded at the Robert Lang sessions on 01/24-26/1996 (only recording available).

08. I'll Stick Around (Album Foo Fighters)

2nd track and single from Foo Fighters. Often thought to be a song written to spite Courtney Love. One of three songs Dave wrote for the self-titled album after Kurt's death.

Released as a single. B-sides include How I Miss You & Ozone (Ace Frehly cover).

09. New Wave (Unreleased)

Performed live on 08/03/01. The show, which was private, was taped by MTV, but they didn't broadcast New Wave. Mostly likely to stay unreleased.

10. The One (B-Side)

Released as a single. Appears on the Orange County soundtrack. A video was made to support the single. Not A B-Side, but close enough!

11. Oh, George (Album Foo Fighters)

8th track on Foo Fighters Self-Titled album. One of three songs Dave said was written after Kurt's death. The title is paying homage to the late George Harrison, Dave's favorite Beatle.

Any more songs wanted, please tell me on the comments page. Thanks;).

Yeah, Everlong, My Hero and Learn to Fly are three of the best Foo Fighters tracks. I'm surprised nobody mentioned "Walking After You" which is a great song, and I believe was missing from the list. Otherwise, good list. And yeah, someone needs to make a RHCP version of this. It'd be quite extensive though...

Obviously he copied it from someone/somewhere else, I mean, he writes "Theres nothing life to lose", and then he writes "Theres nothing left to lose", and that mistake is repeated on numbers: 3 and 4. In MY OPINION its a clear case of "COPY, EDIT, COPY, PASTE"

FOO FIGHTERS ROCK... Grohl is one of the greatest musicians in the world, I mean he has success with Nirvana, and then Kurt dies, he forms Foo Fighters and has success again, thats just cool.

Gas Chamber. The Foos did a cover of this song by the Angry Samoans that recently showed up on the Rock Against Bush Vol. II album. Who cares about their singles? give us the rare shit.

nirvana4lf: didn't dave leave the foo fighters? i heard pat smear is now the guitarist and vocals. also i heard that dave is going to be on the new nine inch nails cd. you should of had my favorite foo fighters demo, a nirvana song called marigold. dave recorded the vocals, guitar, and drums for it. you dumbass pat smear left the band, an yes dave is going to be on the new nine inch nails cd, god ur dumb as hell dave is still in the foo fighters there doing a double albulm now, an franz stahl replaced pat smear

I really can't see the point on this article, stating where a song appears on an album really states the obvious. More history about each song would have been good....

www.foocesticide.tk has a song by song description like that but even includes pocketwatch and some others...and I'm not advertising it because I made it ;P And yeah Oh, George was written for the first album after Kurts death and is named after George Harrison You should have mentioned some more lesser known songs like A320, Dear Lover and Walking a Line

faiseee, i think that we all know the song, 'times like these.' thats why i dont like foo fighters, they milked times like these for all its worth. i think they have two music videos for it, a few acoustic versions, and they performed it at the grammys a long time after it was written, as its the only one most people generally like. dude, thats cause everyone likes em, if u go to a concert, they play old stuff, its no different man, wtf do u think the grammies is, just a concert but u get awards!jeesus

rrr give him a break, he did miss everlong which is totally splendid song but lets give a chane eh?
    Unseen_hero
everlong should have been number one.. you didn't even list it at all. I'm not even a big foo fan but that's one of the greatest songs ever.

The Nirvana reviews were good cause they guy actually knew what he was talking about. What was the point of putting in songs that get normal airplay? Oh yeah, it was because you knew nothing about the Foo Fighters, and you wanted filler so it wouldnt look as lame. You didnt see the four Nirvana ones having Smells Like Teen Spirit or Come As You Are, did you? I know more about the Foo Fighters than you from what you wrote, but hey, I don't care to write a worthless review. And like everyone else, I'm going to complain about the song selection. You didnt include anywhere Tired Of You, in my opinion their greatest song or The One. I can at least make a good article about a band I dont know shit about.
