I have been playing guitar for about 7 months now. I bought my guitar about 5 months ago though. It took me a while to work up to buying, but now that I have it, it's so relaxing and heeling.
It is such a nirvana that I literally wake up, go to school, get home, start playing, and I play all night! I really don't know how I get all my school work done. I get so trapped in my music that I don't even see or hear people coming into my room.
But one thing that does stop me from playing is my surroundings. I don't like my room at all, there's no color, I have no posters, and its just plain old UGLY! I need a place that makes me happy, that will relax me, and bring me into that paradise that I love.
So one day when I came home from school, I was so sick of playing in an unhappy place, I took my guitar (and amp) outside to play in a hammock, on my deck, which is one of my favorite places in my whole house. I was blasting that music! I think some little girls came over and started watching from some woods in my backyard. I can't believe I didn't think of this earlier! It makes me so much happier. I get into this illusion; there is no way to explain in. I'm not even going to try explaining. You have to experience it for yourself, and I'm positive almost all serious players who have the passion that I do have experienced it. But the point is, that when you are in an environment that you love, feel comfortable in, and can play in and not think about anything else, you play better and enjoy it more. Its that simple. I am so glad that I've found my paradise; it makes me forget everything. So, go find yours and...just play.
