"You selfless pu*sy", were the last words heard from my bassist to my drummer. I couldn't believe it. We were like brothers a week ago. And we were the top band in our school, and at 15 and 16, we were playing at 4 clubs. I was the front man of our band, and was doing practically everything. So why was my band fighting? They were all fine with me, but with the rest of the guys, they were like dogs fighting over a bone. So what must I or anyone in this position do? Read along.
You are in the fight. But you don't want any fight. So, first, try talking to everyone at the same time. Talking to one at a time would cause much more trouble, believe me. Ask why everyone is fighting. Whatever the reason, try working it out yourself. Telling others what to do would be useless.
Your band members are all happy with you. They all say,'Let's get these guys and start our own band'. Don't ever agree to one guy whom you think is your best friend from the band. You'll lose your instruments and maybe your bones too. What you must do is act as if you quit the band, saying 'I'll come back after the fight is over'. Now if they all want you, the fight is over.
If you ever start the fight, but think it wasn't worth it, do this. First of all, tell the guys about the money they'll all get if they stick together. Then tell about some bands like Limp Bizkit who started out as small ones, and became one of the best rockers ever. Tell them about them being like Limp Bizkit. You can use these points above in any fight actually.
You desperately want to quit the band.Maybe because of studies or you are simply bored. But you know you leaving the band will cause chaos and you might ruin your life and your band members too. So, first, if your band members are of same age as you, tell them about higher studies. To make their life before they set out for fame and fortune. Also tell them about troubles faced by young bands and artists. If in right senses, they'll agree to what you say.
Quit the band. Stretching luck too far can cause it break. Staying with the band may just be for the name. Whatever the reason of why you are forced to leave, there is no need to say I'll try harder. As for band members, you can get a lot of them in the progression of life.
Dont say it directly. You will get in physical fight. Suppose he is your bassist. Tell him he doesn't fit in the music they were going into. If the other band members are with you, no problem. Or tell the guy he is better in something other than bass guitar. It'll work.
So these were some ways to work on band problems. These are all simple ways. No sweat. If you have any other ideas, post them in the comments area.
