Wednesday Question: Most Disturbing Song of All Time

For this week's Wednesday Question, we'd like to kindly ask you folks to think about all the distressing tunes out there and answer this:

What is the most disturbing song ever?

  • Post only one suggestion per comment after checking that your favorite wasn't already nominated (Ctrl+F and all).
  • Multiple nominations of one tune create heavy confusion, since on one hand it's unfair to the given track to take into consideration only the most upvoted nomination, but seeing that multiple nominations allow one user to give two or more votes to the same song, it's also unfair to other nominees not to discard it.
  • Vote up the ideas you support and vote down the ones you dislike.
We'll sum up your votes by Friday and bring you another traditional UG top list. Show us what you got now!

Daddy by Korn. Holy shit that song is disturbing to the point that it's hard to listen to.
Agree with "Daddy" and would like to mention "Pretty", which is just plain fucked. Apparently it's about the mess someone made of killing and raping a kid when JD was in the Coroners Office in the pre-Korn days... Google the lyrics. That's disturbing.
haha I didnt see this but I said the same thing, when I first heard that man, creepy
Sun O))) - Bathory Erzsebet They did the vocals by locking a guy called Malefic inside a casket to trigger his Claustrophobia an record his panic screams
    Samarth Arora
Franky Teardrop - By Suicide . Clearly the most disturbing one . Can barely stand for a single listen
Best song for headphones in the the dark.
Well, they sound lovely.... I suppose music is a lost art. These guys actually tried to represent an emotion through sound... Good for them... Though I'll be fucked if I'm listening to that for more than 10 seconds.
Matt Elliott - The Kursk The song is about the Kursk submarine tragedy and "sung" by the slowly dying and drowning crew trapped in the submarine... Really, really dark and disturbing song...
I really enjoyed that. Thanks for sharing. When I think of maritime songs, this is definitely not what comes to mind.
Just look the guys up. Mental asylum workers that want total human extinction? Check
I was just about to suggest these guys, please write at least the band name next time som it's easier to Ctrl + F. but yeah, this shit's hardcore...
I LOVE this shit! Reminds me of Agoraphobic Nosebleed with less band and more noise.
I feel like there might have been snippets of this that made it into those "sounds from hell" mythology videos. You know, the ones where they lowered a microphone into god knows where, did some processing and it sounded like screaming.
    This is also pretty disturbing
It's seen as the german adaption of Men at work's 'Down Under', at least here in Germany it is - just like DU it's all day long on air.
    Kim - Eminem
I don't really know, I kinda think it's a tie between this and '97 Bonnie and Clyde. The calm voice makes it seriously creepy.
I listened to it yesterday and holy shit, I don't wanna know what was inside Em's head at that time
No, no, anything is compared with this, with the black depressive metal of Silencer and Nattram.
the video btw is from a video called "begotten". marilyn manson was a big fan of it.
Yeah is true, but that combination with Nattram's music is really terrifing.
Throbbin Gristle - Slug Bait Basically tells a nice little story about someone cutting out a fetus out of a pregnant woman and eating it alive.
    Throbbing Gristle - Hamburger Lady
My thought was about "Hamburger Lady" too - it's a song about a woman burnt alive - but even without knowing a context the song itself is very disturbing.
DIR EN GREY - Embryo About a girl who is raped by her father as her deceased mother watches from heaven, as the girl's recollection of her mother's face and voice slowly distorts until it's no longer recognisable, and eventually murdering her father.
    von gelb
Foetus - Enter the Exterminator (a song about jews in concentration camps seen through the eyes of the jews) Sends shivers down my spine every time
Diagnose: Lebensgefahr - Transformalin Nattramn (ex-Silencer, suicidal black metal project) was offered to write and record music as therapy and rehabilitation during one year in mental hospital. The whole "Transformalin" album is a result... According to rumors, Nattramn cut himself during the recording in order to convey the pain even deeper.
Slipknot - Iowa. A dark and disturbing track
also (515)...Sid Wilson's grandfather was ill and Sid was on his way to visit him, and unfortunately his grandfather had passed before Sid could even visit him. Sid then entered the studio, broke down and repeatedly screamed "DEATH"
The Into to Iowa is Just Sid screaming and letting go after he heard about his grandfathers death.
I don't know man I guess these guys really overdo this shit and make it look legit. Good suggestion though.
Purity could be a contender too. "Hands over my face, overbearing, I can't get out". Song about a murdered girl called Purity, if anyone is wondering.
Gustav Mahler - Das Lied von der Erde this is dark as fuck indeed... "Dunkel ist das Leben, ist der Tod"...
everything by Eisregen - a German black metal band... You can pick virtually every song, the lyrics are mostly disturbing. "19 Nägel für Sophie" or "Krebskolonie", just to name a few (though their most disturbing material is mostly banned...) 19 Nägel für Sophie is about a man who finds out that his girlfriend slept with 19 other men. He cuts off their heads after asking them if it was worth to die for Sophie. (All of them answered no, by the way.) After doing so, he takes 19 steel nails of each 30cm length and nails them into Sophie's body in a way that she doesn't die too fast. (You can imagine where the last nail goes...) Here's the song:
Krebskolonie is about someone who - after finding he has cancer and is going to die - decides to kill as many other people as possible before he dies. And
The Downward Spiral - NIN The final section of this song gives me goosebumps...not in a good way. Reznor really captured a truly unsettling way to portray someone's gun suicide.
he couldn't believe how easy it was he put the gun into his face bang! so much blood from such a tiny little hole problems have solutions a lifetime of fucking things up fixed in one determined flash everything's blue in this world the deepest shade of mushroom blue all fuzzy spilling out of my head Most of the album is really disturbing, particularly "Mr. Self-destruct", "Reptile", "Closer", "Big Man With A Gun", and "The Becoming"
Scott walker - Jolson and jones This has to be the most disturbed song ive ever heard.
Gojira - 1990 Quatrillions De Tonnes
those screams in the background are fucking terrifying
I know the majority of nominations will be br00tal metal songs, but I'd like to suggest a different kind of disturbing via Munly. Here's one of his songs that tells a story of incest, abortion, and gang-beatings.
It's got tobe "Dance with the Devil" by Immortal Technique. Kid joins a gang, the initiation is to rape someone, after they finish he finds out it was his mom, then he commits suicide. I only listened once
This is a side project of Mikko Aspa (of Deathspell Omega fame). It seemingly explores elements of paedophilia and the like. This song in particular seems to be about a victim of child abuse at the hands of a parent. What makes it so uncomfortable, aside from the obvious, is not only how candid and explicit the author is, but the fact that what is described therein is a reality for some poor innocent souls out there.
Cocoon by Bjork feels very wrong to listen too. I'm sure there are other relatively uncomfortable Bjork songs, but this one does it for me.
This lovely little song about revenge raping your ex girlfriend with a jackhammer. The part at 10: 07 is great.
97' Bonnie and Clyde - Eminem. The fact that he's having his toddler daughter help him dispose of her dead mother's body... Just no.
I already posted this in the Darkest Songs question, but this song is really disturbing: Placebo - My Sweet Prince It's about Brian Molko's ex-lover who tried to kill (or even killed, sorry, I don't know) herself - and her last words she wrote on the mirror were "My sweet prince"... Really haunting, grievous and disturbing... In the rare moments when Placebo played that song live, Brian couldn't hold back his tears while singing...
Tori Amos - Bonnie and Clyde (Eminem cover) This is an Eminem cover, but she completely reinvents it.
Immortal Technique - Dance with the Devil
In the song, the rapper describes the increased involvement of the main character into the drug & gang scene. He's challenged to prove that he's real to several clients by raping and stabbing an unsuspecting woman. The encounter is described in vivid detail and ends with a horrific twist.
