When I first heard Michael Jackson's music I was immediately hooked. Everyone that knows me knows that the King Of Music is my hero. His music touches everyone in a different way, and it's always powerful. His vast array of music can cause difficulty at the beginning of listening to him though. He released 8 solo albums and multiple greatest hits albums. I thought it'd be a good idea to give a little rundown of his music to help all of the new fans out. I'll put them in order of release date and at the end of each description, I'll list my favorite songs from the album. Off The Wall Off The Wall was Michael Jackson's first solo album. It's definately a disco album. This would suit people who are into the 70s disco movement and people who are looking for good dancing music. This album is one of those albums that you can't sit down and listen to it, you gotta get up and move. My favorite song on the album is She's Out Of My Life. It's a sad love song that really hits the heart and causes emotion. Thriller The next album he released is pretty much the most well known album in history. Thriller is the best selling album ever released. This is considered the peak of the King's career and a true defining moment. It includes hits such as Thriller, Beat it, Billie Jean, The Girl Is Mine, Wanna Be Startin Someting, Human Nature, and P.Y.T. There's very few albums that can compare to the magic of Thriller. And of course the music videos for Beat IT and Thriller are 2 of the greatest ever made. Some of my favorite songs from this album are Beat it, THe Girl Is Mine, Wanna Be Startin Something, and For All Time (on the 25th anniversary edition). The song Thriller is asctually my least favorite song Michael ever released. The video is AMAZING, but the song isn't very good. Bad In 1987 Michael Jackson released Bad. This album is a true classic. It's another one of those albums that you can't help but dance when you listen to it. Some of the hits from this album include Bad, The Way You Make Me Feel, Another Part Of ME, Man In The Mirror, I Just Can't Stop Loving You, Dirty DIana, Smooth Criminal and Leave Me Alone. THis album obviously is just packed with classics, and it truly is a work of art taht deserves to be treasured by all. Some of my favorite songs from this album include Bad, Dirty Diana, Just Good Friends and Man In The Mirror. Fun Fact: Dirty Diana was actually one of Princess Diana's favorite songs. Dangerous The 1992 release of Dangerous marked a turn in Michael Jackson's career. The music became less bubblegum pop and more hard hitting music. The hits from this album include Black Or White, Jam, Heal The World, Gone Too Soon and Who Is It. My favorites include Who Is IT, Dangerous, Why You Wanna Trip On Me, Give In To Me and In The Closet. HIStory: Past, Present and Future In 1995, Michael Jackson decided to release a double album. One cd was a greatest hits album, the second was all new songs. This album was probably his heaviest album he did. It's very emotional and very intense. Some of the hits include They Don't Care About Us, Earth Song, Scream, and Stranger In Moscow. My Favorites are History, D.S., They Don't Care About Us, Stranger In Moscow and Scream, and Earth Song. Blood On The Dance Floor The 1997 release of Blood On The Dance Floor was very obscure, and the album remains obscure to this day. Not many people have ever heard of it, and its sales are low. The only "hit" on the album was the title track Blood On The Dance Floor, which didn't do well. None the less, I like this album quite a bit. The first 5 songs were new releases, the rest of the songs were remixes of songs from HIStory. My favorite song of all time is actually one this album. That song is Is It Scary. Other songs I like are Blood One The Dance Floor, Ghost and the remix of History. Invincible 2001 marked the last release of new songs by Michael Jackson while he was alive was the album Invincible. It only sold about a million copies, and there was no tour for the album. The only hit was a song called You Rock My World. Other songs I like on the album include Speechless, Threatened, Don't Walk Away, Cry, The Lost Children, and Whatever Happens. I love this album. I think it should have gotten a lot more attention thatn it did. Michael In 2010 an album was released of preaviously unreleased tracks after his death. This album was simply titled Michael. The hits include Hold My hand and Hollywood Tonight. I love every song on this album. It's one of my favorites that he released. There were some songs that were released out side of those albums such as One More Chance(Number Ones) and This Is IT (This Is It). Now it's time for my list of songs for the beginner Michael Jackson fan. I've been a fan of his since about 2006, and these are the songs that i love most: Who Is It Speechless Man In The Mirror Morphine Is It Scary Beat It Billie Jean Gone Too Soon Give In To Me Threatened Bad D.S. They Don't Care About Us Dirty Diana Monster This Is It Behind The Mask Much Too Soon I hope you enjoy those songs. That's just a selection of what i think are his best songs. So if you're a new fan and looking for songs to buy, those are the ones i would suggest.
