Thanks! I'm retubing in about 10 minutes, so I might as well pop it open and take a look under the hood

EDIT: the deed is done. I have about 8 pics to share here in about an hour or so, not to mention a NGD coming for my new tubes.

Here we go, boys! I'm still kicking, and everything is put back together and in working order. Pretty good for my first time...you know, since I'm not dead and stuff...

Here they are:

Let me know what you think about it. I really have no clue what most of it is, but for how much shit is packed in there, I would say the organization job is pretty damn neat. I am completely ignorant about quality of parts in use here, and I really have very little idea what most of that even does or means. Some basic explanation would be awesome, but I understand if this is the wrong place to ask for that.

EDIT:
I finally got the better quality pics up!

You would never get a job with the CIA/FBI for surveillance. Ouch.

Looks like every other budget amp, maybe 1 step up. At least it has decent pots. 5w resistors held above the board. (Pretty tough to tell from the pictures)

Thanks for posting them. That is a busy amp.

This isn't a gutshot of my Superdrive 30 II but it's a cool one of somebody's Superdrive 45. I like how they kept the PCB purple to match everything else. Looks very clean IMO, but the caps look much smaller compared to some of the other ones I have seen on here.

EDIT: I am not going to tear down my 30 unfortunately. I am a bit skeptical that I would break something and/or kill myself. Somebody else should do it though, I would be appreciative.

don't worry, Min isn't around to judge the size of your caps

Maybe it's just the camera angle. I honestly have no idea wtf I am looking at.

actually those caps on the right look pretty beefy, i think even min would approve.

i always joked min that he'd shelve the power supply in a separate rack by itself. he liked caps bigger than a babies fist.

I edited my pics some to improve them, but they're still pretty bad.

After I said I would do this, I forgot I didn't have my camera with me, so I had to use my shitty phone camera. I'll take some better pics either this weekend or early next week with my good camera so that you can see better.

Well, after completely forgetting to do this, seeing this thread mentioned in another thread reminded me to put up better quality pics.

I hope those ones are okay. If igur didn't have a damn filesize limit, I could provide even bigger versions, but those should suffice.

Let me know what you think

No problem, guys.

I would snap pics of my band's other guitarist's Rectoverb and Blues Junior, but he probably wouldn't let me open them up because he's a pussy about that stuff

That is a very busy amp.... One would be hating life if they had to remove the PCB.

The Blues Junior is really simple... The back panel just comes off and the chassis is mounted flush against the back, like the old Fender combos. You don't even have to touch the chassis, much less remove it.

It's also not much to look at in there though. Everytime I open mine I cringe at the shitty, PCB mounted pots. One day I'm going to get ambitious and replace all those with real pots.

It wouldn't matter, he would never let me touch the inside of either. I have no clue what his deal is, but he disregards all advice or knowledge I have of gear. It's funny, because that would be understandable if I consistently broke my own gear, gave him bad advice, or if he knew a good amount about gear himself, but he doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to gear. He tries to tell me all the time that his Rectoverb is worth upwards of 2 grand, as if I'm unable to Google prices that I might not know

However, he completely trusts every person that works at the shop where he buys his gear, which we all know is always a good choice

I told him a while ago that he needs to retube his damn amp, and he still hasn't even done that. I mean, he's had it well over a year with the stock tubes in it. I would say that he's pressing his luck at this point, seeing as how we gig regularly and practice full-volume at least once per week. I tried to give him advice on the tubes, but instead, he said he was going to talk to the guys at the shop, who he'll probably overpay to replace his tubes. He's such a tool.

I've got a friend like that. My biggest issue with him is he doesn't like pulling the cord from the guitar through the strap, he prefers it to just hang... It's utter stupidity, but he'll argue with me for hours about it. I don't think he understands the reasoning behind it, but he won't listen long enough for me to explain. Once he was playing my gear and I had to tell him he couldn't play it because I demanded he wrap it that way (to protect my output jack) and he said he wouldn't play with it that way.
