Wasn't sure where to put this but over the Christmas weekend I acquired a VOX Wah Pedal and have been trying to do the solo of Guerrilla Radio by Rage Against The Machine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7eZAqMYat-0 I just can't figure out how to make it sound right with the pitch one octave up. It almost sounds like it with two octaves up on the Whammy but it's missing something. My rig is in my signature so you'll know what I'm working with.
My gear:
Squier Stratocaster with Killswitch
Peavey Vypyr 15 Amplifier
1995 Yamaha PSR-420 Keyboard
Digitech Whammy Pedal
VOX V847a Wah Pedal.
Digitech Death Metal Distortion Pedal

he is bending but hes not picking so might be another switch trick (i.e. killswitch of tone switch)?

I know that because the tabs of the song say to hammer on the notes for the solo.

Perhaps a real harmonica will suit your needs. I'm not sure, but I hear that Tom Morello is the only modern virtuoso of the instrument outside of the Louisiana Delta.

...maybe it's a real harmonica? I really couldn't imagine a guitar sounding so harmonica...ey.

I remember my friend bought and showed me some doohicky that can be used to make a guitar sound like all sorts of wind instruments. I forget the name of the thing but he got it for $100 and showed me videos on youtube of ppl doing bagpipe, harmonica & flute-like sounds with the device...if I find out what its called I'll let you know

If you listen to it live, it sounds about the same, and he isn't using a Harmonica.

Harmonica sound for guitar? Why can't you just learn to play a harmonica instead and take away the pressure from yourself to make a guitar sound like one?
Rock N' Roll isn't just a genre of music. It's a way of life. If you fall; get the hell up, brush off, and keep rockin!
