Bradley Nowell and Brad (Sublime) are the same person.

He's obviously pretty young, and I'd guess he's being raised by wolves, or at least humans with the intellectual capacity and compassion of wolves.

And so it goes

Interesting list. I stick by that if you play with it long enough, you can get at least 1 good sound out of any amp.

My Line6 Spider 3 has a beautiful clean tone that I found after playing with it for a while - can't get a good metal out of it that doesn't sound muddy or computerized though. Also a good pop punk/crunch coming off of it.

Just to clear up some misconceptopns

Schuldiner (Death) used a VH-140 early and Marshall Valvestate 8100 later
Decapitated used a Warhead, not the Ampeg
Suffocation actually used the Ampeg SS150

I would like to add Anal Blast as using the Ampeg VH140

Greg Ginn (Black Flag) - ??

Greg Ginn used Roland and Yamaha Preamps with a Peavey Power Amp that was designed for Vocal PA.

I think I stated in the OP that I'm not validating all of these, only collecting them. If you want to help me validate the ones you have here with some links that would be great. Otherwise, I guess I'll take your word for it. I probably will work on it after Christmas.

Greg Ginn from Black Flag prefered using solid state amps because he believes tube amps round off the attack too much. I don't remember any specific models but I think I remember reding something about him using a Peavey PA head that was meant for vocals.

Edit: I guess I was a bit too slow.

I've seen John Flansburgh go direct in with a Line 6 POD.
I'm up for building you a pedal.

Eric Clapton used a pair of AWARD Session Rockette 30s on 1987s "August" album. Found this through researching the amp (I own one too).

Jan Ackerman from Focus used an AWARD Session Sessionette 75 throughout the 70s on various albums

cobain also use crown power amps and carver power amp (yes, carver and not carvin).

they think he was using a Randall Commander during Bleach.

he also use a sansamp classic for quite many of his distortion tones toward the last tours.
punk isn't dead, it's always smelled that way.
