I've seen them sell for as little as US$30.00, so I'd definitely pass on it.

FatalGear41 knows the ways of the obscure. I hear it's just not with Gibsons. Beware, Halloween approaches...

I honestly don't know about them. It seems like a squire, or a step below, like the old squire bullet which used to MiK and fender's bottom line. I honestly don't know what's going on at fender either, as the "Mustang" is a name of another model of guitar, made by fender, that they still reproduce. And "Sunn" is the name of an old amp manufacturer that fender bought out in the '80's and expanded their own amp plant into the old plant near where I live. It's nice to know they've opened up another sweat shop to knock-off their own stuff.
Like my power amp tubes, my opinions have been biased in the past...

They haven't opened a sweat shop, and they're not knocking off their own stuff. Not sure why that would be a reasonable assumption.

Fender put the Sunn name on their old squier line for international markets. A sunn mustang is a squier strat. They just thought that was a more marketable name abroad for some reason. They stopped doing that in the early 90's, by the way, so there was never a new shop opened - just a different name on the headstock for guitars from the regular factory, depending on where it was to be sold.

Looks like im well late on this thread but ill put my input in.I actually have one of these and have done for about 16 years. It was my first guitar and i still use it.I think its actully pretty good. For my first guitar i have throughly enjoyed using it and i still use it to this day.The only repairs i have had to do to it is have it rewiring as my pick ups started to turn on and off.
