Hey, guys, it seems that there is no designated location for poetry, so, I figured, "Heck, the pit?". I've been reading a lot of Pablo Neruda, and I have to say, he has the best poems that I have ever read, ever; the problem is, I can't find any poets, with as beautiful poetry, now. If you guys know of any poets, who write stunningly beautiful poetry, please share. I really need some more of this desolate, lovely mind bending stuff because, damn!

Thanks, guys!

Thanks, everyone! These are great, and I actually really like Silverstein's stuff. I hate how I forgot that he made serious poems, as well. Not that the other stuff sucks ha ha ha. I'll, also, make sure to check out the literature thread. I might find some cool stuff. Thanks, again.

You could try some William Pratt. Here's an example of his work:
“My soul is wrapped in harsh repose,
midnight descends in raven-colored clothes,
but soft…behold!
A sunlight beam
cutting a swath of glimmering gleam.
My heart expands,
’tis grown a bulge in it,
inspired by your beauty…
effulgent.”

Sir, the contents of my mouth just blew all over my keyboard, desk, and part of my monitor. For the record, it was slightly chewed Keebler cookies and coffee slurry.

The average pitmonkey's response to my jokes.

It hardly rhymes, that sucks.

Well apart from effulgent, there is no other word for gleaming that is even close to rhyming with "bulge in it". I believe he suffered from similar problems when he wrote The wanton folly of me Mum
