No love for Chino Moreno?
Chino was one of the first ones to come to mind actually.

Also, Woody Guthrie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gTHa7gdwYh4

Off-topic, YouTube videos don't show up for me on here, is it something with my internet settings?
Only play what you hear. If you don’t hear anything, don’t play anything.

it's funny. i'd listed him but took him off. his lyrics are great and powerful, but seemed like the odd one out on my list.

slightly off-topic: would everyone agree that white pony is an incredibly sexy album? with the exception of "elite" i think it's awesome babymaking music. i played it for my girlfriend last night and she said it sounded more creepy than sexy. but isn't there something dark and sinister about sexiness?

he really is. he writes like i wish i could. and unlike a lot of people, i really like MTX's later stuff a lot more than the earlier stuff. don't get me wrong. all of it's good, but i thought love is dead and revenge is sweet were there high points as far as pound for pound quality.

Yeah I agree, Revenge is Sweet... is actually my favorite MTX LP.

It's also impressive that he's spent his whole life writing almost exclusively songs about girls without ever really being misogynistic, which is not something most writers can say.

billy corgan for the lyrics in zero:

My reflection, dirty mirror
There's no connection to myself
I'm your lover. i'm your zero
I'm the face in your dreams of glass
So save your prayers for when we're really gonna need 'em
Throw out your cares and fly
Wanna go for a ride?

She's the one for me
She's all i really need
Cause she's the one for me
Emptiness is loneliness, and loneliness is cleanliness
And cleanliness is godliness, and god is empty just like me
Intoxicated with the madness, i'm in love with my sadness
Bullshit fakers, enchanted kingdoms
The fashion victims chew their charcoal teeth
I never let on, that i was on a sinking ship
I never let on that i was down
You blame yourself, for what you can't ignore
You blame yourself for wanting more
She's the one for me
She's all i really need
She's the one for me
She's my one and only

david bowie for width of a circle:

In the corner of the morning in the past
I would sit and blame the master first and last
All the roads were straight and narrow
And the prayers were small and yellow
And the rumour spread that I was aging fast
Then I ran across a monster who was sleeping
By a tree.
And I looked and frowned and the monster was me

kurt cobain for in bloom:

Sell the kids for food
Weather changes moods
Spring is here again
Reproductive glands

He's the one
Who likes all the pretty songs
And he likes to sing along
And he likes to shoot his gun
But he knows not what it mean
Knows not what it mean
And I say
He's the one
Who likes all the pretty songs
And he likes to sing along
And he likes to shoot his gun
But he knows not what it mean
Knows not what it mean
And I say yeah

We can have some more
Nature is a *****
Bruises on the fruit
Tender age in bloom

MF DOOM

Surrender now or suffer serious setbacks
Got get back, connects wetback, get stacks
Even if you gots to get jet-black, head to toe
To get the dough, battle for bottles of Mo or dro

This rhyme flow take practice like Tae Bo
With Billy Blanks, "Oh, you're too kind", "Really? Thanks"
To the gone and lost forever like 'Oh My Darling Clementine'
He hold his heart when he tellin' rhymes

Jeff Mangum

Oh comely,
All of your friends are all letting you blow,
Bristling and ugly, bursting with fruits falling out from the holes
Of some pretty, bright, and bubbly friend
You could need to say comforting things in your ear

But oh comely,
There isn't such one friend that you could find here.
Standing next to me,
He's only my enemy
I'll crush him with everything I own.

If someone did a Jeff Mangum x DOOM mashup album, I would pay a lot of money for it.
