hi there
I've got a strat, a tele, and a 335. I'm gonna sell some gear to get some money, so I'm wondering what to do with the influx of cash. I'm happy with my amp and pedals, so I wanna get a new guitar. I've got to decide between getting a new acoustic or a new electric.
Anyways, if I do get another electric, what should I get?
#2
do you already have an acoustic?

what type(s) of music do you mainly play?

what's your amp? even if it's good, if you have room, a completely different style of amp to get different tones might also be an idea.
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

Try a Gretsch and experience the mini humbucker goodness. And the bigsby of course.

Yeah I've got an acoustic which is pretty good.
I play mostly blues-rock stuff, and some more progressive things.
I've got two amps, a little 5 watt boutique amp and a big marshall solid state.

I'd say a humbucker guitar. The ES I tried at a shop sounded similar to my SG, so I wouldn't opt for that. Check out Eastwood. Got a guitar from them recently and it's fantastic. So inexpensive, too.

what's the boutique amp?

obvious things missing from your guitar list would be a solidbody humbucker guitar or something with p90s. obviously there are other slightly more obscure thing, jazzmasters, gretsches and the like, but yeah.

Do you like metal? Can any of your guitars sound good with distortion? Do you play any hard rock?

There's a world of "metal" guitars out there if that sort of thing interests you. The ESP/LTD 1000 series, Schecter guitars, high-end BC Rich guitars, etc. You might also look at the PRS SE guitars.

Yeah all my guitars sound great with distortion, and no I don't really like metal.

Those aren't boutique. Theyre made by Behringer.

What exactly is your criteria? What do you like about a guitar? What don't you like? Do you need a tremolo? Do you need a specific sound?
