Hey, I just released an album! Been listening to a ton of Empire! Empire! (I Was a Lonely Estate), Prawn, TWIABP, and other bands of that sort over the past year or two. Not sure how much that influence shows through in my music, but that's sort of where my heart was musically when I wrote these songs. Maybe you guys will enjoy it, I dunno.

Also, so this post isn't just me being a one-man advertising team, here's some more free music. If you don't check out my album at least check this out. Anyone who enjoys math rock or just twinkly guitar work in general needs to know who Yvette Young is. She's an incredible guitarist. This is an EP of acoustic songs but supposedly she's trying to get a full band together. Check it out.

Hey this is really good, nice work. At first your influences seemed maybe a bit too obvious, but it was still good and it seemed less so as it went on and you added your own flare to it. Really pretty overall and good, yet melancholy vibes

can dig

it's $1 but a nice and quick collection of beats. you'd probably like it a lot dead after the stuff you liked last night

and here is some really nice ambient atmospheric piano stuff that is cooler than it sounds

Michelle Zauner from Little Big League has a cool new solo lo-fi thing out under the name Japanese Breakfast. Totally worth a listen, it'll only take 9 minutes of your time.

You

Sorry, I wasn't sure.

I made the album art in Paint.NET (I would have used Photoshop or something but I didn't have anything better). Visually, it was inspired by some of the older Empire! Empire! album covers like On Time Spent Waiting and Year of the Rabbit. Artistically, it was inspired by something that happened at the end of the last summer. A friend and I bought a cheap kite and tried to fly it, but to no avail. This past 10 months or so have been kind of a weird time in my life. I guess the kite stuck in a tree sort of encapsulated how I felt while I wrote and recorded the album. It seemed like an appropriate image.

Anyway, thanks!

It's only free this week, I think. Probably my favorite release by these guys.

great melodies here.. i like them but eh, the vocals kinda come off as some weird pop punk arctic monkeys rip off and that's never a good thing

not trying to come off a sycophant or anything here but i turned them off and put on reverie again :-)

I love the vox. People seem pretty split on it them though, so I get why you dislike them.

My friend who makes weirdo rap and also weird electronic music was stuck in a hotel room all day and decided to write and record a short mixtape. It's free. First two tracks are pretty good imo, third track is a Papa Roach cover for giggles, fourth has some cool electronic stuff but it's just noodly. http://mcvague.bandcamp.com/album/watch-the-booty-hotel-album
