Check out dat neck.

GC had it on sale for $3398 rather than the usual $4399, got a few hundred more knocked off for a few little dings so I paid a bit less than a used one goes for and get that lifetime warranty.

Review: It ain't no Schecktah, but it does have teh coil tapz, which of course means toanz.

It's a lot less obtrusive than it looks. TBH, I don't even notice it when playing.

The neck joint doesn't look too comfortable, but the cutaway on the bottom horn more than makes up for it IMO.

How's the 4 wheel drive on it?

... Audi Quattro? No?

Okay, I'll shut up. Absolutely stunning instrument, I love the way the hardware is sort of aged-looking, it'd look a bit gaudy otherwise IMO with the flame top and all.

HNGD!

Oh ya. I actually modded the hell out of my LP Custom to get something similar to this in performance and it still isn't as good. The split coils actually sound great and are more than useable, while the split WCRs in my Custom are useable at best. Neck feels incredible.

The body is mahogany with an artist grade flame maple top, neck is Indian rosewood, fretboard is a separate piece of Indian rosewood, board binding is maple, headstock overlay is cocobolo. There's a mix of materials used for the inlays as well.

Almost went for one of those too. And ya, it's a flat nickel, plus it's been sitting on the wall in GC for almost two years. And agreed, the top is a little excessive but it just works on this guitar, IMO.

Yeah the look of it definitely works. What are you going to use this guitar for, mainly? I've always heard PRS was overall a beast for versatility to a degree, never had the chance to play any other than a Santana SE which I didn't really like so I can't really tell.

Pretty much everything. I'm currently really into doom/sludge. Also play jazz/funk a lot and of course Ratt. The ME is the only PRS I've ever really liked the sound of and it sounds good for pretty much everything.

Tuned to E standard on the Priss. Only my Custom is tuned to D or drop C these days. The vid that was on YouTube a while back was in drop C.

Here are the amp settings. Can't see the mid control because of the flash but it's pointed straight towards the treble knob.

It is kind of odd.

Does anyone know why PRS uses that neck heel? I can't think of one logical reason for making it like that.
#26
The heel stood out to me too, that is a damn fine guitar though either way.
#27
that's awesome

I saw in a couple of pictures that on Bucketheads Les Paul (only some pictures) that his neck pickup is painted in white. Can anyone explain to me why he would do this, and if there are any pros and cons.
